No one has dethroned him for that title. Celtics winning a chip doesn't move the needle anywhere.
There isn't anyone in the league who can truly compete with him. Giannis could've been the guy, but he's played 3 total playoff games over the last two years. Lebron/KD/Curry are still too old.
Luka is great but is more ball dominant and less efficient that Jokic.
Unfortunately Jokic's supporting cast was worse last year (less depth, hobbled Murray) and now they lost KCP over the offseason.
Still, no one is individual touching Jokic's level for now.

Erm, I think we jumped the gun on Jokic.
Lebron was never surpassed. His teams in LA have just been vastly inferior to Jokers, but individually LeBron is still the ****ing man.
About 15 or 16 years straight of Lebron being the man.

He is, but Embiid went up a notch. Definitely now Embiid is better than Davis, Bam etc.

I think there are four five or six players in the NBA that can be called the best in the world.
And joker is one of those five or six

He's the best still. Has a real shot at entering the top 10 all time. He will need team luck to win another ring, but his peak is easily top 10 all time.

Best at what?
Jokic's MVP seasons were when the next best player on his team was injured for most or all in both of those two seasons. His stats were elevated in those two years. Notice when Murray returned, Jokic was down at #10 in scoring.
Jokic proved himself as an elite player by raising the play of his teammates in route to a ring. But he was not able to replicate that. The best players are not "one and done"; he has to continue to prove he's able to elevate his team as its leader.
His game mostly depends on him using his weight to ram his opponent, and then when they brace for another hit, he spins or fades back for a shot. It's largely a brute force game combined with a shooting touch; as opposed to footwork (ie: Duncan) or talented moves ((ie: Olajuwon) to get to the basket.
I didn't care for his trash talk of Edwards and also ending the series with the Timberwolves with a forearm strike to Edwards in the closing seconds- poor form, showed bad sportsmanship and once again we see him take his temper out on other players.
Areas of improvement needed: consistency, conditioning (his fatigue was showing in the 2nd half where Minnesota took advantage of him), and commitment on the defensive end for a full four quarters.

Jokic is clearly the best. Giannis is a distant second.

You've literally go nothing here.
No one is better than Jokic. He was clearly the best player in the Olympics too.

Jokic is clearly the best. Giannis is a distant second. It's almost like Giannis has become underrated as of late. Or is it like 2000's Duncan where everyone knew he was the man but no one talked about him?

Said this in an earlier post, but Giannis has played 3 playoff games in the last two years. He just hasn't been available when it matters more.
