Stephon Marbury says LeBron James needs to surpass Kobe Bryant before being included in the same conversation as Michael Jordan
“People wanna rank Jordan? Jordan shouldn’t even be ranked. It should be Kobe, then LeBron and then you can pick guys after that. There’s just no comparison man. It’s not the same. It’s just different worlds. Different mentalities. I don’t know why Jordan’s name is mentioned in the same conversation sometimes.”

Marbury can have his opinion.
What I want to know is what specifically does Lebron need to do in order to surpass Kobe in Marbury's opinion. Lebron is 40 after all...highly doubt Marbury could actually provide specifics besides "MuH mAmBa MeNtAlItY"

What does lebron's career in his late 30s have anything to do with what he did or failed to do in his prime? Maybe prime lebron is what marbury is mainly looking at and none of the tail-end overtime shit distraction.

How about not cheat the game by doing PEDs/HGH all his career? :lebronamazed:

Prime for prime, Kobe can hang with LeBronze. But realistically, over their entire career, anyone still holding Kobe higher is not objective.
And I don't like LeBJ at all.

Funny how Kobe and Lebrons greatness could be even more manufactured than MJ’s.
Shits nuts.
Y’all are literally making a commercial mainstream rating. Nothing more. lol.

I understand that Kobe's contemporaries are going to stump for him. The reality is he's never been the best SG of all-time and he's not even in the discussion. Kobe was also never the best player of his generation to the point where it's beyond dispute. People argue for Shaq, Duncan, KG, and Dirk...Kobe might be the best of the five but Lebron owns his generation and he owns his position (PF...in that he's a point forward).

Hilarious considering every player you listed as having an argument over Kobe in that era is on record saying Kobe was the best of their era.
You are a dumbass.

Kobe didn't get his own team until his 8th season. At no point was he the best player in the league. Best brick layer, but not player.

Ringz probably.
Bron’s atg totals are tough, but people will say winning. Kobe went to a lot of Finals, too.

This is how I see it. I imagine there is something you are really great at. Imagine that you were one of the best in the world. Sure, you might have a shallow view of it, but you know what makes you great and you know what it feels like to shine. Now think about someone shitting on you. Imagine they shit on you in a way you didn’t even know possible. That’s what people are saying when they are like Kobe or Bird or whatever.
It’s like this dude was something that was unlike anything. Maybe Bron and Kobe both beat them, but they felt like they could go vs Bron. That’s important, too, like how many greats are high on Melo, cuz they know he gives them work, but you do have to look at the larger picture, too. You should be able to say Kobe was the biggest problem I encountered, but Bron’s resume is amazing.
That’s just not how they think of it. To them, their subjective on court experience is most important. Likely Kobe took their soul in some kinda way.

Yes he was. Check the receipts.
Shaq was calling Kobe the best player in the league, by far, as early as 2001 when they were going for their repeat.
Even at the peak of their beef when Shaq went to Miami he was saying that Kobe had the potential to be the GREATEST EVER.
Shaq (like all the others) has been pretty consistent in his Kobe praise throughout his career.
But weirdos like you have to make sh*t up as copium.

Marbury put 50 on Kobe. Say what you will but he balled and I respect his opinion, even if I don’t agree.
I dunno why people are so mad. That’s one thing is people want reasons. We need reasons cuz we are building an argument as onlookers. For them, it’s like uh I played vs him??

You just realizing that lol? That poster is not someone to discuss ball with without wanting to pull your hair out. That dude has Shaq out of his top 20. He's one of those 'go against the grain' types and while its cool to have varying opinions...yeah....can't take most of his statements seriously.

100% it's crazy that people that actually watched both primes don't agree on this unanimously

What’s up with this constant ranking of things?
Is this autism playing out in real time?
I’m genuinely intrigued.

I will say that if I'm guaranteed getting a 10 out of 10 night, with both of them playing in peak form with my life depending on a win, I'm going with Kobe though
But, yes, the full body of work has to be LeBJ.
