U.S employment exaggerated by 818,000 jobs

"The US economy employed 818,000 fewer people than originally reported as of March 2024, showing the labor market may have been cooling long before initially thought.

The revisions are a yearly practice from the Bureau of Labor Statistics; final revised numbers are expected to be released early next year.

The report, released Wednesday morning, showed the largest downward revisions to the professional and business services industry, where employment was revised down by 358,000 during the period. Leisure & hospitality saw the second-largest downward revision of 150,000.

The report moves down the monthly job additions seen in the US economy over the time period to 174,000 from 242,000.

"Despite this big downward revision, that's still a very healthy growth rate in terms of the monthly jobs added to the economy," Omair Sharif, Inflation Insights president told Yahoo Finance.

Furthermore, economists cautioned ahead of the release about how much investors should read into the print given its backward looking nature.

"The realization that the economy created fewer jobs than initially estimated [does not] change the broader trends in GDP growth, stock market and wealth gains, and consumption," RBC Capital Markets US economist Michael Reid wrote in a note to clients on Aug. 16.

This release comes at an important time for labor market data as recent signs of slowing have prompted economists to argue the Federal Reserve's current monetary policy stance is too restrictive.

First off, that picture of McConnell has to be like 30 years old. Doesn't even look like him. And I don't know what that picture is intended to mean? That he hates Blacks? Or is pro-White? He's married to an Asian woman. Honestly, that picture looks fake as hell. It certainly wasn't taken in 2020. And again, if he takes a picture in front of that flag, it doesn't mean that he hates anyone.

And I don't know one single Republican in 2024 that opposes gay marriage. Certainly no one in Congress. And if there are people out there, it's certainly the minority. Obama's on record as to opposing gay marriage while I don't think one Republican in recent memory has said as such. Certainly not Trump.

Most of what I talk about is basketball, aka something you never post about despite being on a basketball forum. Most of what I do on here is trolling conservatives, I'm not sure why you think that's weird behavior for an anarchist? Go to anarchist subreddits and ask them what they think of conservatives.

I call nazis nazis. I generally use the term fascist when meaning someone far-right as Nazi is pretty specific. You could also argue the Democrats are fascists btw (although I wouldn't, neoliberal is a better term IMO), they're certainly fascist apologists and support foreign fascist regimes.

Yeah I think I was very pro-Ted Cruz back then and did see Trump as a bully and I was thinking to myself, we need to get the White House back after 8 years of Obama, and little did I know that the only candidate that could beat Hillary back in 2016 was Trump. There is no way any of those other Republican candidates could have beaten Hillary. I still don't like Trump's off the cuff remarks, but I've grown to accept them. But I don't see hate coming from him towards the common man or from the Republican Party.

Think about this, Hillary Clinton ("Basket of deplorables") and Joe Biden are on record insulting the average Republican voter. I don't recall Trump ever insulting the average Democrat voter. He's always gone after the politician, the person at the top. Never the voter. I could be wrong of course, but I can't remember any time he's ever insulted a regular Democrat voter before.
