Capablanca, the 3rd World Champion.

The winner according to the main criterion, where we measured average deviations between evaluations of played moves and best evaluated moves according to the computer, is Jose Raul Capablanca, the 3rd World Champion.
Computers choose: who was the strongest player? | ChessBase (https://en.chessbase.com/post/computers-choose-who-was-the-strongest-player-)

Keep in mind that for a very long time, Capablanca did not study any opening theory, yet dominated. His talent was natural, which makes you wonder how good he would in this era with Computers.

He also married women who didn't have Adam's apples.

Morphy dominated his competition much more thoroughly, it's easy to find the best moves if your competition aren't making them. No room for Capablanca in the top 10.

If a top player from the past played against a current player, without any new training, they would lose, due to computers. So I'm focusing on the talent that the individual human was born with.

If Capablanca came back today, in his prime, he would destroy Capablanca from the past, due to his talent, plus the copy and paste type of knowledge that he would gain from computers.

Players from the past were not as strong, due to the lack of modern opening knowledge, but if the moves were so much easier to make back in the day, then the other top players from Capablanca's era would also be at the top of the best evaluated moves in the link that I provided.

Think about this, Capablanca, who never studied theory (until later in his career) would get killed if he suddenly appeared and played today's players, because of theory and memorized computer lines. (Which is something that requires less talent) but allegedly, Frank Marshall developed The Marshall specifically for Capablanca. Preparation and theory beat talents, if the talent doesn't know the theory, but what did Capablanca due, while in trouble, he beat Marshall in that game. Due to pure talent.

Everything now is all about memorized lines, which sees current players making the correct moves, the top computer moves for a good portion of their games. Capablanca was finding these moves just on pure talent, without memorizing anything. Just evaluating the position.

The reliance on memorization does not equal, reflect innate talent.

Edit: Hikaru said that Morphy today would be around IM level. I say (so it won't sound as though I'm attributing something to Hikaru), that due to the era that he played in, and how much better he was than everybody else, the insane natural talent that he had, then Morphy would probably be a Super GM right now. Yet, his moves didn't make it to the top of the list that I mentioned. And that's probably because he didn't have to look, was not forced to look for better moves, given his competition.

So the two main points that I made in the 'essay' should obvious. 1. If the moves were so much easier back then, then Capablanca wouldn't be the only one from that era near the top. 2. Everything now is all about memorized lines, which sees current players making the top computer moves for a good portion of their games.

That’s why I stopped taking chess seriously when I saw all the books on strategy and my brain started thinking about systems. It’s too finite. I like what’s his name’s idea of randomizing the pieces behind pawns. Sure, it’s same fundamentals and strategy, and maybe someone starts with an advantage, but it’s a better game and it would bear out in a series.

**** any games that computers can play with top players. And I bet in the same way we own hard video games, beating a cpu consists of glitching it out and tricking it. Lame.

Chess is too solved. Fight me.

The reason why I provided a detailed explanation was for those who are not familiar about the history and how computer relate. And you say it's painfully obvious, but I made the two points because it was not obvious to you in your previous post. The points being, "1. That's not accurate. You added the Hikaru avatar long after I added my current avatar (which used to be in black and white). And I'm pretty sure that the reason why you added the Hikaru avatar was because I made a thread about him. And then you added the Hans Niemann avatar after the butt plug controversy, and took it off after someone told you that it made you seem angry.
