All of the bad policy is hers. It's obvious that she is going to tax more, she has stated it. He didn't talk about no tax or tips or social security, either. There is actually a decent amount of stuff he didn't talk about in regards to what he was gonna do. He didn't even say drill, baby, drill.

What he did was throw every crazy policy and failure in her face, and she didn't really answer. I am not sure what he was thinking, but if people really didn't know about those policies (like the people who were polled and said they needed to know more about her,) then it might work. However, she was the one who did try to bait him into irrelevant shit, like crowds, and he responded. Just that he responded was bad ( to me), but I have to assume it was a choice. As for why, I dunno?

She definitely massively overperformed and for the most part, other than messing up words, etc, she gave a good performance. I dunno if she proved to people that she can be president, but she did seem like the one who was in control, and I think that matters a lot. However, Trump always seems out of control haha. And we are always like ???? but this is definitely not the old Trump.

He had some good moments and made some jokes, but they set it up so all she had to do was not fail, and she didn't really fail. She didn't offer much, but she did offer multiple policies that will entice people.

The afghan thing, with them having a plan and Biden not following it... was damning. The fact that she was in Ukraine 3 days before the invasion is a reflection of her ineptitude. If people were listening to the words, she got battered in a lot of ways, but you wouldn't know by the way it went.

In my opinion, Trump made the mistake of responding to her when the mics were supposed to be muted. Of course, they planned to open them, and the whole thing was pretty biased, kind of a trap in itself, but he still should have not gone into it.

It just depends on whether people are aghast by the stuff he said about her or not. Everyone knows about all the shit she said about him, jan 6th, the election etc. Same olde shit. But it was definitely laid out well.

Be interesting to see how this goes, but I think that Trump played the debate very poorly. He said the right words, but not at the right time and arguably not in the right way.

I'm also surprised he didn't say he wouldn't sign a national abortion ban, but maybe he wants those votes haha. He was at his best when he was like yeah she'll never get the votes. There was no substance in what she was saying, and if he would have stuck to pointing that out, she would have flustered ( as she did at times ) and failed. I'm also not sure how much debates matter in an election. You'd have to assume Bush lost every debate he participated in, and he won both elections. Obama had an atrocious showing in the first debate in 2012, then he beat Romney quite decisively. Pundits claimed Hillary got the better of Trump in their debates, and we all saw how that played out.

Unless it's a catastrophic performance like Biden had, I don't think debates truly sway a voter one way or the other. There's still 2 months to go in the campaign, which is an eternity in an election. Just for reference, Trump got shot 2 months ago, and look how irrelevant that seems now to the outcome of the race.

It's a sad commentary, but I feel like Taylor Swift's endorsement will have more significance on how people cast their ballot than the outcome of this debate.
