Extreme overpay

"Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has agreed on a one-year, $62.6 million extension that’ll keep him under contract through the 2026-2027 season, his agent Jeff Austin of Octagon tells ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski

You know that has to sting Klay even a bit more.

If that's overpay then every player with supermax is overpaid because no one is on a higher level than Curry.

Anyone have an idea what the net salary Curry will keep from this? After state taxes, and payment to his agent, what do we think he keeps as a result? Half?

Curry, draymond, Wiggins, hield, podz all have their contracts ending in 2027.

So they are gonna roll with this core for 3 more seasons putting off a full rebuild/reset for another 3 years. This is supposed to get curry ring #5?

Jesus christ. Paying a role player 62m is insane.

Another lottery year on the horizon. What a disappointing franchise.

Can't wait to see Klay back in the WCFs next year where he belongs.

He has the #1 selling jersey, fills the arena with people from around the world who come just to see him play winning or losing record, and has built over a decade of good will based on results and accolades. He just showed out on the world stage to increase his brand even further to gain more popularity and attention.

There are a lot of clowns nowhere near as credible being paid the same.

Steph should go ring chase somewhere else for his last few seasons.

What will that prove?

If Steph somehow manages to win yet another ring in Golden State then he is the greatest.

If he chooses wisely he could get grab up to two rings.

Put him on Celtics and that changes everything.

I think the clinical term for this is "Dingo Envy".

In the extremely unlikely event he got the Warriors to create a trade where he switches places with Tatum or Brown he would discover what KD could have already told him, which is that even a great player won't get much credit if they win by joining a great team. He would enjoy the parade but he and everyone else would know that he's just a rental and is really a Warrior and always will be. He already gets all the love in Golden State, even if he never wins another playoff game. That's home.

him and Bronny will tear it up ....

lmfao

I remember when Jordan signed his last year - 35 mill.

I equated it to 15k a shot for that season. (pretty much my annual pay at the time)

Well Curry will be making 30k a shot ... go figure..
