Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday appeared to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race against former President Donald Trump.
According to multiple reports, Putin was questioned during the Eastern Economic Forum he attended in eastern Russia over how he viewed the upcoming U.S. election.
The Russian president, apparently smiling alongside the event’s moderator, said ultimately it was up to the American people to decide but said that as President Biden has backed Harris, "we will do the same, we will support her."
"She laughs so expressively and infectiously that it means that everything is fine with her," he added.

You are fully capable of continuing to fool yourselves. You will have a hard time, however, getting people that didn't agree with you before to go along with the idea that Putin wants the candidate that will continue support for Ukraine to win the election. That requires a high level of stupidity only attained when a naturally dumb person is actively engaged in self-deception.

Oh brother, here's Real Women Wear Green's circular logic that means that up is really down and left is really right and Putin really wants Trump in office. :facepalm
Mind you, Putin has been able to successfully invade Ukraine under a Kamala Vice-Presidency, so I don't know why he would think anything different under a Kamala Harris Presidency. He certainly wasn't invading Ukraine under Trump, so if I was Putin, I would definitely want the Democrats in power cause he knows he will get away with it. You think supplying weapons to Ukraine will turn the tide of this war. It hasn't for three years. It's a miracle Ukraine has any soldiers left.

Putin didn't invade under Trump because he knows Trump is incredibly prideful, and Trump would be hyper-aware that an invasion during his presidency would reflect poorly on him just like it's reflected poorly on Biden/Harris. He even told Putin not to invade Ukraine because it wouldn't end well for him. It's a complete myth that Trump was easy on Russia - it's the exact opposite. He imposed sanctions and made life tougher for Putin.
Putin views Trump as a strong and intimidating leader. Anyone who thinks otherwise or can't see the forest through the trees is a moron. Obviously it's not that simplistic, there are other factors at play. But human psychology is a big factor.

I'm not sure that this is really the main factor. But I'd be more inclined to replace "a strong and intimidating leader" with "a prideful and unpredictable individual in a powerful position". At the end of the day, it amounts to the same thing from an action standpoint I suppose but I don't think there's any reverence or true respect there.

So we mostly agree. Prideful/strong, intimidating/unpredictable mean the same thing in this context. I think there is a mutual respect though. I don't think there's any way Putin doesn't think Trump isn't a very impressive human being and a much stronger leader than Biden or Harris.

Cause Trump isn't a puss and let Putin have his way with an unprovoked attack.
So you really think Trump would involve the US military in direct confrontation? Wouldn't that lead us into a WWIII that could lead us to unimaginable horrors? I thought that one of Trump's stronger points with the MAGA crowd is that he's non interventionist? That he's not a war monger nor does he believe the US should be the world police...so which is it? Putin was going to eventually invade Ukraine, it happened under Biden but if Trump wins the election, do you really believe Putin will pull out of Ukraine? He's going to occupy the Ukraine no matter who wins. And I don't think Trump is crazy enough to involve the US military directly, that would be insane, he'll either keep sending military aid or just stop sending military aid and let Russia finish the job. I don't think he wants to go head to head with Putin, at least I hope so for all of our sakes.

Oh I'm sorry good sir, I thought you were making the insinuation that it wouldn't have mattered if Trump was President, that Putin would have done whatever he wanted with Ukraine, thus lumping Trump in with the likes of Obama and Biden/Harris, so I'm just wondering if you knew what was Putin's trepidation or hesitation in invading Ukraine during the entire 4-year Trump of President Trump. If Trump was President, Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine for the simple fact that Trump wasn't provoking Russia, and is not part of the crowd (Joe Biden, Victoria Nuland, Hillary Clinton, Raytheon, Black Rock, and dozens of other Psychopaths) who want to expand NATO to the Russian border, and invade them, take their oil, etc.
Money was sent to Ukraine while Trump was President, but that's just because that's what was going on for years. Including the 5 billion that the US (Obama) spent for the 2014 Ukraine coup. The norm, what his advisors pushed for and is constantly being undermined by the Victoria Nuland crowd that I mentioned. (We're talking about millions here, not 185 or billions so far) (Though he also put a freeze on the Ukrainian aid due to concern about the corruption in Ukraine and because he felt that the US was giving them too much money in comparison to Europe.)
Trump would have been embarrassed had Putin invaded Ukraine under his watch and would have been pushing to prevent it, rather than intentionally provoking it, like the Biden administration was doing, which includes a speech by Kamala Harris, 5 days before the war started, claiming that Ukraine will be part of NATO.
So that right there is the biggest reason as to why. The Biden administration was provoking the war, while Trump was not. That's basically the only reason why Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine if Trump was President.
As a result, the country of Ukraine is f*cked in ways that you cannot imagine, like rape victim. With at least 700,000 dead Ukrainian males, with the average age of Ukrainian soldiers at the moment probably being over 45.

jstern - the most interesting point that i noted in your answer is the provocation on the part of joe biden specifically. it wasn't only joe who provoked and had his hand in pushing for ukraine joining nato for years during his presidency but for years before that along with of course, as you mentioned, the globalist neocons. great answer bro.

No president is going to eliminate the flow of money to piss off the industry that has carried the most power and influence on American govt in our lifetime. The only change will be how that expense will be marketed to the public... Support Ukraine's freedom or bringing back manufacturing jobs to small town usa!
Why would Trump or any president consider that when both goals could be achieved by reducing the quality of aid cashing in and phasing out old technology?
