He was 93 and when you hear that voice, you know exactly who it is. I liked him in Coming to America

RIP to one of the GOATS. Huge loss, but a wonderful illustrious life full of great achievements and accomplishments.

To date, my favorite role of his is still in Field of Dreams.

I know he's had a lot more prominent roles but to me he'll always be Mr Mertle from Sandlot. RIP old timer

Beat Burning Hammer to the thread.

I was surprised, a couple of months ago, to learn that he was in his 90s.

This picture wasn't actually from yesterday, but apparently from March when the Empire State did a Starwars themed week. But it got posted everywhere yesterday, and is pretty bad ass.

Here's a great question. What was James Earl Jones's best film role? And you have to exclude all of the Star Wars titles because he did no acting in any of those movies. Just voiceover work.

And it's weird, cause I can't remember a film in which I saw him in a leading role. He must have had leading roles in films way before my time. But if I had to pick one performance that has always stood out to me, it would be his performance in Field of Dreams.
