View Full Version : Any other players besides Wade and Lebron attempt 15+ft per game in a playoff series?

Wade in 06 Finals of course with 97 in 6 games
Lebron with 96 in 6 in the 09 ECF

It's an entertainment league bro. Maximizing profit is king over everything. Anybody that's ever worked corporate knows that's all that matters.
The only player I've ever seen totally dominate with 0 endorsements and flip the script is Dirk. And Jokic.

I am surprised by 2009 Lebron though.
Looks like the league was trying to push that through for an epic Kobe vs Lebron title fight.
But Orlando's 3pt shooters got too hot.

Off the top of my head I think Kevin Johnson, Jerry West and maybe even Adrian Dantley have done this. I’d be surprised if Shaq didn’t in the 2000 finals when he had that 39 free game. It’s probably not as rare as you think it is.
we talked about this after the 2006 finals. There’s a name I’m forgetting somewhere. I know Jerry West and Kevin Johnson were two of them that surprised people.

Shaq too, he took an astounding 192 free throw attempts over the course of the 2000 WCF & Finals :lol
Another crazy stat is Dirk actually shot more free throws in the '06 playoffs than Wade did.

Shaq averaged 15 FTs/game in 99 playoffs. That was over 2 series so he definitely did it once there.

Funny because Dirk didn’t attack the rim like Wade at all. But refs doe

Kevin was insanely quick with a ridiculously tight handle, always loved him as a kid in the 90's but have even more appreciation as an adult rewatching those old games.
He really jumps out the screen to me even compared to other really great athletes. Had a working theory about physical/athletic marvels and the correlation to ft attempts.
With Wade most people just reflexively say "rigged" without really understanding the athletic freak of nature dude was. Wade was 5th in the league that year in dunks with a 152.
He dunks the ball at a PF/C rate while having Iverson like quickness and first step. Him, J, Barkley, Shaq, Rose and Lebron are always who first come to mind when I think of mutant level athleticism.
Appreciate the KJ and West recommendations, will be doing some research

My b, it was free throws made, not attempted.
