Far be it from me to ever act like FOX is dishonest but where did that number come from? 13,099 is very specific. Border Patrol does not let convicted murderers into the country. Some could and likely have snuck through, but overall that's illegal. So to know that they would have had to get 13,099 illegal immigrants tell some pollster that they were convicted of murder in another country and then somehow came over here. Curious as to how this number was tallied.

Why does an official government website say something completely different? Again: we don't allow convicted murderers to immigrate. It's not legal. But you are saying that the decision to buck that rule was made 13,099 times by the federal document that then proceeded to only record 189 such cases in the last 7 years?

So there really are 13,000 known convicted killers who aren't citizens, over 40 years that's almost one crossing the border every single day. If only 60ish percent of murders in the US gets solved, the real number of non citizen murderes is probably closer to 19,000.

As your article states, the 13,000 includes "many" who are under the jurisdiction or currently incarcerated by federal, state or local law enforcement partners. Since they say "many" I'd assume it's not the majority, so there are at least 6500 known non citizen murderes free in the US. Not good.

The fact check also states that:


"With so little space available in ICE detention centers, many criminals convicted of serious crimes are shipped to another facility .) to serve out their terms,"

"Some noncitizens on the non-detained docket may participate in the agency’s Alternatives to Detention programs , which generally track people with GPS monitoring devices or the SmartLINK phone app, but murderers would not qualify. A 2021 Biden administration memo made detention a priority for noncitizens who pose 'a current threat to public safety.'

So they're taking up space and others are getting released because of it, which sounds an awful lot like the case of Jose Ibarra who was released into the US because there wasn't room for him to be detained even though he was a known criminal. He went on to murder a young American girl.
