That might have been true a few years ago, but not now. Klay Thompson isn't helping the Warriors anymore. He's actually better for Dallas, who can use his defense.

Thompson had better be able to defend else this move won't work at all. You can't have Irving Doncic and a bad defender as your perimeter defense. That third guy must be a stopper.

Isn't defense the reason why Hardaway Jr. fell out of the rotation?

Who knows... Thompson has never played out of the warrior offense and his injuries have made him inconsistent altogether.

Kidd said something last year along the lines of their most effective defense is the pressure they put on the other team to keep up on the scoreboard. It made all the sense in the world to me because no matter how well the Lakers played defense on a given night their margins for error were slim because they did not have enough guys on the court who could reliably put the ball in the bucket

That approach will get them to the playoffs but they won't win a championship without somebody that can challenge a preimeter scorer.

They made the Finals but someone else knocked off Denver... so they might not be as close to a championship as it looked last season. I am just saying it might not be in the Mavs long term interest to make the move right now considering what the knicks paid for Bridges.

Not just that but link at what happened in the Finals. If Porzingis didn't get hurt they get swept by an average margin of 20 points. That's how far they really are from championship standard. Thompson better have something left in the tank.

It will be interesting to see how Klay is defended outside Golden State. Because with the warriors defenses stuck to him like glue and I don't know if they can do that while trying to double Luka and Kyrie like teams did in the playoffs last year leaving DJJ open. You can't really leave klay open like that without getting avalanched. Even if he is older and slower, klay never relied on explosive athletic ability anyway.

I bet Klay has a great season playing with Luka. I can't think of a better shooter to fit with Luka. Klay can shoot from everywhere with perfect form.

It's not guessing, it's right on the money. Kerr started him after missing 2 1/2 years of basketball on then the top team in the league. Some of the most disgusting favoritism I have ever seen in team sports.
