A different way to look at it. (https://www.sportico.com/leagues/basketball/2024/wnba-ratings-aces-liberty-playoffs-1234799359/)
Clark is clearly the most popular female player of all time and she will be missed whenever she gets knocked out off the postseason but her and some other popular lady players have the WNBA a popularity bump that has kept some people watching. Not a WNBA fan myself but it makes sense that basketball fans that are brought in by Clark are some other good players and still follow them even though the main attraction is gone.

Relative to the times before it was already thriving. The ratings were way up the last couple seasons. Not as high as when they were on network tv but they aren’t that high with Clark either. They were gonna get a bigger contract either way. Clark likely gives them leverage to make it much bigger.

Yeah, the question is where were they before. Growth takes time, doesn't happen overnight.

These black chicks are really ****ing up for themselves. They should have embraced Clarke and been cool. They should have cherished the opportunity to be part of her fame. Instead they were petty and dumb.
The worst is we all saw it play out with Larry Bird. Everyone embraced Larry, except the Pistons. What do people think about the Pistons now? That's right. On the other hand, Magic made his career off Larry and look how he was elevated.

Instead they were petty and dumb.So let's say the test of the WNBA, These black chicks like Diana Taurasi really don't like her. What does that matter? This is sport. It's competition, they are supposed to be trying to beat her. You are expecting them to turn WWE to make you happy?

He was a6'9 point guard and you sit there saying he made his career out of Bird? Which one of them is a billionaire? You're out of your mind.
The Bad Boy z Pistons are doing about as well as any champion from decades ago before salaries exploded. You're on some stupid.

It's not a black chick thing, its a woman thing. Women cannot stand other women getting more attention or doing better than them. It's just that the WNBA is made up of mostly black chicks so it appears its just them talking shit. You're right though, anyone complaining are dumb as shit.

Women thing? You do realize Clark isn’t the first popular wnba player right? Wnba ratings were rising before Clark. Clark helped boost them when she plays this giving them more leverage than before. Kudos. Women have been way more successful than Clark has. Some were given signature shoe deals. Commercials. Where was this women hate other women (those who benefitted from what I mentioned) at? Chances are you don’t even know if there was hate or not. Because you weren’t paying attention or following the wnba. But you just make a generic statement that it’s women hating women. A woman thing.
Folks don’t like lebron. Is that a man thing? This message board has been split on lebron love. “Lebronze”, “LeCry” “LeFlop” are nicknames used here and more. Men sat here arguing, name calling, trolling one another all centered around a Lebron topic. Is that a man thing to do? Someone make a thread about Draymond green and folks will chime in how much of a prick he is. Triple singles, glorified role player. Long rant short men do exactly what you claim “all women do”. But I never hear it said. Interesting.

Black chicks when Diana Taurasi was one of the women who was said to be hating on Clark. Last I checked she ain’t a “black chick”. What’s dumb are fake ass wnba fans chiming in slanging insults, false narratives and other nonsense. Before Clark entered the wnba you didn’t care. The only remarks some made were laughing at them wanting more money and how boring womens hoops was. Bunch of layups and jumpers. If you ask folks like yourself who were the top 5 wnba players in the lg a season prior? You couldn’t answer. Heck you still can’t. You just know you like Clark because she jacks 3’s from a distance. Why are men so invested in defending Clark or arguing on her behalf when you didn’t (still don’t) care about the wnba in general? Aja Wilson is on a goat trajectory and no one speaks on it. But let someone say Clark will have a toggle time transitioning into the wnba? Black chick haters.
Men cry about the game being less physical than when it’s physical for Clark? Bunch of whining. When the truth of the matter is the women’s game is more physical than the men’s game (nba). It’s by designed. But hey keep calling women dumb but first tell me how many games you watched in full of Clark and the Fever.
There was a rapper who had a hit single called “Ain’t no future in your frontin” by MC breed. A black rapper from da ghetto man.

If you think any WNBA player before Clark was anywhere near her level of fame right now then you're out of your ****ing mind. Talk shows were discussing Clark when she was in college. She was on SNL before she'd played a WNBA game. Offered 5 million dollars to play in the Big3. No-one gave a shit if those goblins Breanna Stewart or A'Ja Wilson were given shoe deals a few years ago. There are more people cheering for Clark on road games than whatever shithouse team Indiana are playing.
I'm not sure what world you live in but it isn't the real one. Every last one of those chicks who have thrown shade at Clark have done so because they are riddled with jealousy over all of the above. All 14 flagrant fouls on Clark last season were from black players. A straight, small white girl has come into the league and taken over it and they cant stand it. I don't even give a shit about Clark but we all have eyes and ears. Skip Bayless said only this week that there is blatant racism towards Clark from inside and outside the league. The WNBA players before Clark werent marketable because they are mostly ugly, angry, bitter lesbians. Nothing over the last 6 months has changed anything except rubber stamped those opinions.
Magic, Bird and Jordan's fame that propelled this league into a different stratosphere was appreciated and lauded by everyone in it. The WNBA have fought tooth and nail to destroy their golden goose. That's the difference between men and women.

Never watched women's basketball with any type of enthusiasm until Clark.
And there's been plenty of great woman basketball players. She simply moves different.

This is just typical male narrative about a sport they truly don’t care about. When you ask for quotes about the “hate”. Either nothing is posted or what’s posted is clearly taken out of context it’s not even funny. Like 17% of flagrant went against Clark. That’s only 5 fouls out of the 32 flagrant called. Your narrative is “see! For a rookie that’s a lot! They hate her”. But when I ask you who were the other flagrant fouls on? You don’t know. When I want to get real spooky with it I’ll ask you to list the flagrant fouls the past 5 years in the wnba. and tell me who was flagrant fouled the most? You don’t know. Can you provide me a list of all the names? Or do we only know about it when it comes to Clark? Interesting.
You’re talking about fame. I’m talking about successful women in the wnba who people know by name. Sheryl Swoopes, Maya Moore, Taurasi to name a few. Heck Lisa Leslie was popular because she played for LA. She dunked the basketball. She had a model like frame. While she wasn’t the best big ever she was very popular. Point is there were women who were successful and popular before you cared about Clark and women’s hoops. You wanna argue how big and highlight ratings etc doesn’t change the point made. Clerk is a great player. But this lame narrative created by the media and men who don’t even care for women’s hoops is ridiculous. Creating false narratives every chance you get.
Funny part is Clark doesn’t agree with none of what you and others say on her behalf. You guy are gonna die on thet hill tho. Have at it.
Liberty defeated the Aces. No one cares even tho liberty is led by two white women.
Minnesota and Connecticut are tied. No one cares even tho N.Collier and A.Thomas have been fun to watch.

Plus has crazy range. She shoots further out than not only anyone in the WNBA, her average 3 point shot is further out than any NBA player too. She's made more 30+ footers by herself than the entire rest of the 143 player league COMBINED. lol. She's like what Curry did for the NBA on steroids.

Legit question, has a woman made more money in her career than caitlin is set to make? Accolades are cool, but i bet cash is the real jealousy driver.
Edit: and i mean simply what she is signed on to make now, not her potential earnings.

I believe those ratings are still up considerably over last year even for non-Clark games. The WNBA overall is growing, hard to deny that.
Yes, sure games with Clark in them have higher ratings, but that's like being surprised NBA games with Michael Jordan had higher ratings than those without.

Although I get your general point 17% of flagrant fouls is a massive overepresentation statistically. No matter who the others are. Just from a mathematical standpoint.
