Wife and I are out of google photo space (we created a gmail account for both kids but dont want to use that up). While we've considered upgrading, I think it's best to keep our pictures off of the big servers. Anyone have any experience with Synology NAS? How easy is it to move Google Images to it and is there any app that uploads to the NAS and deletes it from the iphone?

Any other suggestions are welcomed

thanks

i may be wrong, but i doubt you'll get much as far as any answers on that topic here. you'd probably be better off asking or reading up on reddit. try googling "synology nas reddit.com" without the quotes.

edit:

here's a couple of subreddits on the topc:

https://www.reddit.com/r/synology/
https://www.reddit.com/r/synologynas/

browse, search or sign up and ask a question yourself. gl.

I've been using Resilio Sync since 2013, back when it was called BitTorrent Sync. It allows you to synchronize files and folders across multiple devices. For example, if you take a picture with your phone, the image will automatically appear on your computer or any other devices you've connected, even on your parents' computer thousands of miles away. It's peer to peer connection, never passes through a third party company.

I think it cost me like $5, but there's also a free version.

There's also a program called Sync Thing which is free, but I rather just spend the $5, because Resilio is easier to use.

I believe I mentioned it a few years ago here on ISH, as a way to share a massive collection of games folder (All games ever recorded), contributed by ISH members.
