The idea that Sessions might have to recuse himself from the Russia investigation was raised almost as soon as he took office. Trump was concerned about the implications of such a recusal, reportedly telling aides that he needed a loyalist overseeing the investigation.

i remember this getting a good amount of media attention. just one of the many reasons trump is labeled a "threat to democracy" and that his staff is expected to be sycophantic and subservient to him - something the liberal media loves to continuously parrot.

fast forward to today, where in respected journalist bob woodward's new book, bob writes how joe biden "remains privately furious at AG Merrick Garland for going after Hunter", describing how Biden told an associate he “should never have picked Garland.”

obviously the us ag doesn't represent the president - he's supposed to represent the american people. so it's a huge deal when trump (hitler 2.0) says it but when biden (or any democrat for that matter) says something in the same vein, it just gets brushed by the wayside. :confusedshrug:

When Biden pardons his son that might be a comparable action but Trump getting rid of Sessions is on a completely different level of power abuse from Biden privately being angry that Harland is having his son prosecuted. Until Biden ends the prosecution is not an abuse of power. I think he will after the election but he hasn't done it yet so that's not a fair criticism at this time.

Trump said Sessions was a "dumb Southerner."

Well Trump does know his base.

that may be true, however the point about joe's mindset (what's left of it anyway) is still valid, where biden quote - "wished he had never picked garland", implying that he should have picked someone who instead would kowtow to him and therefore leave hunter alone.

You're expecting Biden not to be human. He's already lost a wife and three children prematurely. Even without those tragedies he wouldn't want to see his lady remaining son in jail but with that already having happened I'm not going to expect him to be happy with Garland. He's entitled to his feelings. The important thing is that he has not at this point done anything to stop the prosecution.
