View Full Version : Bronny James really only had one job --- to not to be the worst player in preseason.

I mean, he could probably get away with being pretty bad, he just could not be at the bottom of the list. Well, statistically at least, it has happened. He's the worst roster spot in the NBA in preseason out of 494 players who have logged minutes. This performance seem like it is almost scripted or something. There are some bad players still getting looks on exhibition contracts, etc. These players will never make an NBA roster. How is it possible if he is a bona fide NBA talent that he is the worst player during preseason? These kind of numbers pretty much mean that he will never get any look from an other NBA team for the rest of his career even if he earns a spot as a role player in LA. Not saying it could not happen, but front offices do not take flyers on players with those comparative advanced numbers. There have been way better role players than Bronny that have been cut and pushed out of the league because their impact advanced numbers sucked.

This is a big backfire - Lebron using his influence to force Bronny on to the Lakers, that is. He seems to have done it to feed his own ego - being the first man to share the court with his son - but all he's done is expose Bronny as a complete and utter basketball scrub. I feel bad for the kid to be honest.

Imagine how much LeBron nut huggers would be flapping their gums if MJ did this kind of shady shit with either Marcus or Jeffrey?

There's only one thing you could beat.

Forget the skills, is he even an NBA level athlete? I've noticed that on several occasions he falls behind the ball in the full court on defense. If you are ball-stopping defensive specialist as a guard, that's supposed to be your bread and butter. To be defensive stopper you have to be in front of the ball at all times. He's never supposed to be falling behind his man in the full court. He struggles from getting from point A to point B on the court. Where is the straight-ahead explosiveness? If you compare him to other small guards, his down hill top gear just does not seem to be there. Andre Drummond is literally faster than him running down the court in a straight line. Is it low effort or is there something else going on? If he's not really an NBA-level athlete for whatever reason, G-league is not going to help.

It just bothers me how terrible he is. I haven't given a **** about Bronny in his entire lifespan. Not even the rumor he'd get drafted and play with his dad.

But when I realized just how horrific he is at every facet of basketball. How he truly isn't a natural basketball player. Like, there are guys who would never even go D1 for college ball, who are still what I'd call natural basketball players.

Bronny. Bronny plays like those guys in school who are athletic and play football primarily, know how to play basketball but, are not basketball players naturally. Except he's never played football in his life.

This will end badly for Bronny and humble him into his 20's. He'll have to find his own identity in this world. The bad thing is it'll be very public and drawn out.

He should be a streamer or some socialite bullshit guy. Assuming he isn't talented in other areas. Taking this job as an NBA player shows such a lack of judgement. Daddy can't protect you from the reality of this. God this will be so uncomfortable and humiliating.

And he's in the sports reporter capital of the damn world. A well documented, humiliating parody of an NBA career.

If the Knicks aren't elite we're going to see a G League player generate more discussion than the top 4 teams in the league combined. Bronny might just be underpaid based on the high level of interest he generates by existing.

Bronny has sucked for sure but the Plus/Minus stat is not the stat I would use to showcase this. The second overall pick in the draft is literally the next worse player for Plus/Minus after Bronny.

It's a really short sample size to use.

You should simply go look at Bronny's atrocious individual stats, literally all you need to do.

Sarr has played 69 minutes to be -40, Bronny has played 36 min to be -40. Sarr also plays on the Wizards, who suck.

Sarr is a big, they take longer to develop and overall are a bigger risk in the draft. That said, he is quite the disappointment this far, not surprised with him being the Wizards top pick.

Didn't watch but Sarr doesn't sound that bad. Limited sample size but there have only been 3 or 4 preseason games to begin with.

outside of that one awful summer league game, he hasn't been disappointing, imo.

He's there to keep LBJ happy enough to remain a Laker that appears to be motivated to compete for a Championship. You don't have to be a hoop savant to know that. By that standard, he's been on the money.
