I did see Julius Randle do something very similar maybe 2 years ago. Can't exactly remember when but he started the game off like 0-6 with 4-5 turnovers in the 1st quarter and I immediately thought this guy is actually drunk on the court. He was just running around completely out of control and uncoordinated.

I knew kids that smoked before high school games and on a far bigger level the Sox each took a shot before Game 7 against the Yankees in the "Reverse the Curse" year. But it was just a shot. As you said guys have to know their limits and if you don't know what your limit is with something don't mess around and end up so high you shoot 3 airballs.

One time (early in the pandemic) I took half a tab of acid and played pick-up in front of a 50+ person crowd (lockdown period). Best I have ever played off the ball, I was just moving in synch with the other 9 players without thinking. Hit a game winner when a guy drove baseline and I cut from the opposite wing, bounce pass, layup off the glass with my defender smacking the backboard. Substances can boost you in unexpected ways.
