Star Kawhi Leonard will be sidelined indefinitely to begin the NBA season as he rehabilitates from inflammation in his right knee, sources told ESPN on Thursday.
The Clippers and Leonard are in the midst of a rehab process for the two-time NBA Finals MVP that is aimed to bring sustainability for him on the court through the season, and the franchise will be diligent and cautious to ensure his fitness long-term.
Leonard, 33, has neither played during the Clippers' entire preseason -- which concludes Thursday against the Sacramento Kings -- nor has he participated in any activity involving on-court contact during training camp.

Might just call it a career at some point, no?
Im sure he wont but man this is gonna linger on for years like this I feel
Yeah. I definitely believe it's now time for him to seriously consider hanging it up. He has had a very productive career. I believe that his accolades will even get him into the Hall of Fame.

How long before James Harden ask for a trade?

Makes you wonder how many of these guys in the 80's and 90's actually played hurt and with injuries.

He's not going to leave $150 mil on the table like that when he can just sit on the sidelines for 3 years.
His one-year stay with the raptors totally blows every season he's had since moving on to the clippers.

He is basically the Bill Walton of perimeter players. Both superstars at their peak, both won FMVP, but both could never stay healthy.
It's actually crazy to me that Jeff Green has more career points than Kawhi. :oldlol:

I said a few years ago I'll be surprised if he's still in the league at 35. The Clippers having 150 million tied up in what is effectively a part-time player will make it hard to make any moves for the next few years. Plus him dipping in and out of the lineup doesn't do much for team chemistry.
Harden should be trying to force his way out any day now...

Who they get for Harden would be an interesting question. With the way he bails on teams and the number of teams he's bailed on (if he forces his way out the Clippers world be the 4th time) combined with age and decline I would have no interest. But he could be the Lakers desperation move. Not worth a first round pick in my eyes but I think a pick and a young rotation player is the price, plus the money has to work in a way that doesn't hurt the Clippers.

He should go play in China or Taiwan or something, they're also autistic and less games.

Harden is way too ball dominant to be effective with Lebron.

Didn't stop them from getting Russell Westbrook. I don't think it's a great fit but LA is running out of time when it comes to great James years. If they are going to compete for another r I ng with him they have to do something major. I'm not sure what the move would be but if Harsen wants out I bet he would want a deal like this. And on the plus side James and Harden can both shoot so although one or both of them would have to cede control they could make it work offensively.

No, but one would think the Westbrook experiment would stop them from going down that road again. Granted, unlike Westbrook Harden can shoot but he's also the same guy who said ' I am the system'. I can't imagine that sort of mindset is going to naturally transition to playing more off-ball, and it's not like Harden has shown any particular talent for succeeding in such a role.
The ideal type to play off Lebron would have been Klay Thompson.

For whatever reason they didn't go after Thompson (and he may be washed anyway). Whoever they get they have to get through trades and immediately. If you restrict the discussion to guys that look like they could be available I don't see many better moves to be made.

Only 1000 more than Horace Grant.
