Yes and no. No, in that people who are that shitty don't generally concern themselves with politics. Plenty of Republicans are shitty people too. The general dude in the south who is going to slip something in a girls drink in hopes of doing something is probably not a liberal.

But again...these things go beyond politics.

Outside of actually abominable things that some people do, those who are more prone to depression or societally functional mental illness tend to lean liberal. There's a level of self-awareness and empathy that comes with those types of feelings that lends itself to that side. Not that the DNC holds those values but the standard democratic voter. It's a noble place to be in my opinion but it often comes with an inability to plan and see how it can affect the big picture.

On the other hand, Republicans tend to be more justice-based and care less about things that don't directly concern them. Which, without someone balancing on the other end is not a good place to be for society. At least not now.

At the end of the day both types of people are necessary and powerful people in general don't represent any actually real-life day-to-day group.
