I was doing some random browsing and noticed that the 1996-97 Clippers, with a 36-46 record, managed to sneak into the 8th seed.

Their highest scorer during the RS was Loy Vaught at 14.9PPG.

My question is has there ever been a playoff team with a lower top scorer than that? There might be loads but it seemed crazy low to me.

This reminds me of the 2002 Nets that made the finals. K-Mart led the team in scoring that season, also at 14.9 PPG.

I wonder too what's the lowest on a championship team. 2004 Pistons were led by Rip Hamilton who averaged 17.6 ppg. 2014 Spurs were led by Tony Parker who averaged 16.7 ppg.

It's gotta be Parker on the 2014 Spurs at 16.7 ppg, I'd be very surprised if anybody was lower than that.

Yea I edited my post just before you replied lol. 2014 Parker may indeed be the lowest scorer on a title team.

In 1947, Bud Parker led the Knicks to the playoffs averaging 9.5 points per game, shooting a blistering 31% from the field.

In 48, the Bullets won the title under Kleggie Hermson’s 12 ppg. He shot 28% from the field and almost 67% from the line.

There was but it was back in the 1950s.
