That's a good starts. The Los Angeles Lakers has JJ Redick as coach and Bronny James who is LeBron's son. They're going to try to makes the playoffs for a 3rd year in a row.

Lakers - 39 free throws.

Suns - 17 free throws.

Nice to see the refs picked right up where they left off last year.

If AD continues to play like the best player in the NBA the winning will continue.

The good thing for LA is this formula so far is pretty replicable. It's not like Davis just got hot for a couple games hitting tough shots. All his baskets are basically birdfed dunks, cleanup putbacks, and freeththrows. Hes just being active around the rim and it's paying off, getting very easy baskets. He was 13-17 at thre line last night.

Gotta give a lot of credit to LeArchitect for optimizing AD's strengths. Theres a reason his son currently has a 1.000 career win%.

I think it is pretty safe to say that Redick is a better coach than Ham. Granted that is a pretty low bar.

He goes 100% analytics and actually makes consistent in game adjustments

Ham was a clueless ****ing idiot I genuinely believe they're posters on here who could have done a better job at coaching

Wemby needs to take notes. AD is the single best player comparison in the NBA today.

AD is much bulkier, completely different in terms of physicality.

The best comparison to Yama?

I would say that's Porzingis pretty easily.

That's why Wemby-san needs to wax on/wax off and hit the weights. Strength and a slight build was an issue for AD early on in his basketball career.

You're probably right as far as anthropometry/size are concerned. Things like height, limb lengths, bodily proportions, center of gravity/mass, etc.

But athletically and skill-wise, the comparison to Porzingis isn't as strong. Victor has never been the shooter Kristaps has been at any point. And Wemby-san is way more of a vertical, roll-and-cut threat. And put-back player. More like Davis in those aspects.

I think Wemby has two pathways toward offensive success:

a) become a good enough shooter to justify how he currently plays.
b) hit the weight room and become a bigger Anthony Davis. Commit to becoming a screen-and-roll paint beast.

The latter is the more likely outcome IMO.

I haven’t watched Davis closely yet, but I recall Reddick saying they wanted to use him much much more at the high post to run things thru and use him as a facilitator/jokic/passer.

The play where AD was at high post, pivoting, and fed Knecht for the baseline dunk of a swirling stagger action, seemed to be a perfect example of that side of the playbook.

Reddick actually figuring shit out early is a sign of good things to come. Been saying for years they gotta feed AD more but instead they had mediocre 3PT shooters jacking up bad 3s which led to a below-average offense. 121 ORTG through 3 games is as good as it gets but it's obviously not sustainable for this cast. If they can average out to a top 10 offense for the year I could see them avoiding the Play-In if they avoid major injuries.

The Lakers offense looks a lot better playing more through Davis. A guy of his offensive ability should not be averaging 17 FGA per game as he has the last few seasons. He should be around 20 FGA per game IMO.

The big issue with the Lakers is they are 18th in DRtg and I can't see that end of the floor getting elite. Not with the current roster anyways. And giving AD more offensive load has its downside in that he's probably going to have less energy on D and he's their main defensive presence.

First time since 2010-2011 which is actually the crazier stat.
