Edwards led a perennial loser to the conference finals at age 22. He averaged 27.6/7/6.5 in the playoffs
I think he's earned the right to talk smack.

Good. That will make bronny better. He's lived a coddled life and is only in the league due to nepotism. But he has talent. Guys breaking his balls will only further his energy to make it.

He was ass in the final bit of the Mavs series where his weaknesses got exposed. Up to that point though he was great, there's a reason he was getting MJ comps even though that was crazy - it was because he was performing excellently in the playoffs.

I really hope Ant can put it all together and be the greatest SG of his generation.

He got worse as the playoffs went on, in particular that game 7 performance vs the Nuggets was atrocious.
I'm not too hard on him though, he's still extremely young.

he was gassed in each game. didn't have the endurance to play the 4th quarter in any of those game and by the 2nd quarter dude was winded. hopefully he worked on that this off-season.

His last two games in the playoffs were:
29/10/9
28/8/6
The Mavs interior D definitely had an effect on him but let's not pretend like he sucked. For the series he averaged 25/9/8. His TS of 54% was a bit low since he wasn't scoring at the rim as much.

He's too little. Mini MJ.

he plays big though. and his aggressive style of play + explosiveness lends to being a good scorer from anywhere. soft ass defense in the league these days won't stop him.

Kobe played big too playa. But was longer and bigger and smoother. No zest. :pimp:

That isn’t even in the general vicinity of true.

Yeah. This is where statistics mislead.
Edwards disappeared statistically for stretches, when opponents sold out to MAKE him disappear. That created opportunities for teammates, and they mostly failed to step up. But at no point was Edwards "playing bad." He basically got intentionally walked, so there was no chance possible to hit a home run. And none of his teammates drove him in.

Dallas was doubling him hard early in the series and it clearly threw Edwards off a bit. There were times when he could have attacked the double because it wasn't a good one.
To me the biggest negative I saw with Ant was on the other end. Seemed like a lack of conditioning led to some defensive lapses, especially off the ball.
Offensively he was pretty good, especially given his age and this being his first long playoff run.
Edit: calling out Kyrie before the series was not a good move :lol

Not you just jumping on this once you see there is something to attack and not because you noticed anything about the statement itself :lol

Wait are you talking actual basketball? I thought you were a alt lebron troll.

I wouldn’t say Ant had a bad playoffs, he had great stretches, an alltime great highlight dunk, some clutch plays.
But Dallas really did expose his weaknesses big time.
Ant really struggled to predict, process, and pass out of double teams.
He’s one of the best all around athletes we’ve ever seen at 6’4” and under.
Near the D Wades, Westbricks, etc
A little better cardio/stamina, and he’s right there with em. With stronger football calves. And a much better 3ball.
But so far, at his age, he doesn’t read half court defenses well, for anything other than timing his own slashing. Dallas was physical with him, and put length in the doubles, and Ant struggled to make the right decisions over and over.
He doesn’t seem to make bad decisions in transition, with fewer defenders and angles to process.
Hopefully, with time, he’ll be able to adapt and learn and then burn doubles as they come at him, not once they’re on him. The only way great scorers can stop getting doubled, is by smoking the other team with their vision, intelligence and passing. And Ant is already a great 1-on-1 scorer already, so you can bet doubles are gonna continue to come almost every night.
