However, the Lakers have massively underperformed every year since 2020. So far this year Reddick has been making Lebron play defense though, so who knows. Maybe they'll actually not choke it all away this season.

They're close enough in talent that neither gets an excuse. If they end up playing each other for the title, the team that chokes loses. Neither of them get the excuse that they're just overmatched or that their stars don't have enough help.

The winner doesn't get credit when there are excuses for the loser. No excuses - so winner gets credit. I shouldn't have to be explaining this....

Are you trying to imply that one team should automatically get an excuse for losing?
