Paolo looks like the better floor-raiser, but Chet might be a better ceiling-raiser. I'm taking Paolo. He has a way to be a mismatch against almost any defender. You can build an offense around him.

Chet, easily. 24/13/4blk shows he’s taken that next step since last year. Meanwhile, everyone knows Paolo regressed after his rookie season.

Holmgren is a 2nd option and not an elite scorer, while Paolo is one of these new guys that plays like Lebron except more modern - not just a stiff arm and also better jumpshooter... Luka follows this mold as well of a more modern better Lebron

I do agree that Paolo has more offensive talent and has a higher ceiling in that area, and that Chet always would have needed a top scorer for his team to be successful. With Paolo you're going to have to find strong defenders and shooters, with Chet a strong overall scorer.

I'd probably take Chet honestly. I think the things he does and will be capable of doing are more rare than what Paolo gives.

Paolo Banchero - Proved it last night with 50. Top 5 player soon.

Although I love Chet Holmgren.

On a practical level I think youre gonna get more mileage out of Banchero. Hopefully I dont jinx him here but it feels like he may have a LeBronesque physique thats just resistant to serious injuries. The dude is really built sturdy for his age. Chet managed to play all 82 plus playoffs last year which is very encouraging but he also missed a full season before that, and I think over time his body type is bound to incur some more injuries here and there.

If you ask me who I want for the long run impact wise, assuming equal availability, probably Chet slightly. His offensive game is a bit more polished and his defensive impact is rarer. Banchero's gonna be more of an engine that drives the team, but I dont know how consistent an offensive player he will become. He had two very quiet scoring nights before this recent 50 pt eruption.

Chet I think is easier to predict roughly what kind of player hes gonna be, and it's a very good player. Banchero has a lower floor and higher ceiling, but it's still unclear how good he's ultimately likely to be.

Banchero is eye test wise one of the very best offensive talents in the league if he can maintain his 3 pt percentage currently. At this point in time I don't know if there is a good matchup for him. His size for his skill is extremely rare.

I think he has a real chance to be better than Melo eventually.

Holmgren has been a major reason teams have a hard time scoring against OKC. Although it's early, OKC has the best defensive rating at 90.8 and the next team has a DR almost 10 pts above them. Last year OKC was #4 overall. He's proven he can score and protect the rim.

You just tried to compare someone to Lebron. Your fault.

Thats a fair point.

In all seriousness, that really sucks. It looked like he was starting to ascend potentially to a superstar level. Hopefully he's not hampered when he returns but these kinds of things tend to linger a bit.

I much rather have a wall-raiser instead and that's why I would take Anthony Edwards instead.

Chet. He's a dpoy level defender, and you know what you're going to get with him night in and night out. Banchero exploded for that 50 piece which really skews his stats this early in the season, but he's very prone to disappearing, too.
