you are correct, i voted for him out of pure selfishness. i had a bad fiscal year, as did many of my competitors. i am fortunate enough to have strong connections that kept us busy, but busy can mean a lot of things in a slow economy, aka sh1t profit. i sincerely believe my business will not survive 4 more years of a democratic presidency. these idiots just don't know how to run an economy. in the past 3 months, i've had 2 six figure contracts get canceled. one was from a developer that went broke and stopped making payments to the prime contractor (they currently are fighting an insanely expensive lien placed on the property that they may never get out of). and another backed out because their business didn't meet their target goals. in the 5 years i have been operating, i've never seen such a slow down (except for covid which was like year 1, year2ish if you want to be technical). it's bad out there, and it doesn't help one bit that inflation is coming in like a wrecking ball.

Just to be clear, you can have egalitarian beliefs and capitalist beliefs at the same time, but it's impossible to have socialist beliefs without egalitarian beliefs.

He tariffed wheat to strengthen its production nationally and when there was a shortage of food due to his policies he blamed that on his political enemies and since he was already so entrenched in national support, the people basically just took his word for it and attacked anything that reported against him(ie the media). It's the same kind of criticism I give Trump's tariffs, Italy consumes a lot of wheat and you can't just snap your fingers and replace the imports with production over night. You have to strengthen your production over time while setting rising tariffs accordingly if you want to be independent in wheat production. But... shortage on wheat = shortage on food = angry, hungry population who just wants to hear sweet nothings and thus are easy to control.
