Lebron can't win as a 1st or 2nd option anymore

Hate to say it, but the King isn't winning anything on the Lakers anymore.

Only options left are retirement or being on a contender as a 3rd option.

It's been this way since the 2016-2017 season when Kevin Durant took basketball to levels never seen before - this includes arguably the goat team and goat basketball that we've ever seen.. Since then, every team has strived for this higher mark, so the level of overall play has increased dramatically as the league-wide stats show - this increase made "bron-ball" completely out-dated, uncompetitive, and overtaken by more modern brands like Jokic, SGA, Luka, and even Giannis beat Lebron at his own game of raw athleticism (bigger, faster, stronger)... But Durant spearheaded the superior brand of ball seen in today's era - it's actually KD's era right now.

In addition to these individual results, the team results bear out that Lebron's stiff arm is outdated an obsolete... After Durant took the league to new heights in 2017, Lebron had 2 record losses in 17' and 18', and then lottery out West in 2019... Of course the historic "AD heist" made the Lakers be the only team motivated in the "bubble", so no one truly values that chip.. Of course the Lakers have been a disaster ever since including another lottery and 1st Round loss, and then choking 4 straight fourth quarter leads to lose the 23' WCF and 24' 1st Round..

So Lebron has been obsolete since 2017 when Durant took over the league and introduced the league to the best team basketball the league has ever seen.. This was a new mark to pursue - the Overton window had been opened and now the entire league was playing at a level of ORTG and PPG never seen before.. Lebron was finished and obsolete.. He's been losing catastrophically every year since, except the sheisty bubble, where AD led the team on both ends.
