Friday's game between the Wizards and Grizzlies will have 4 of the top 5 rookies currently on the Kia Rookie ladder:
Edey/Wells for the Griz, Carrington/Sarr for the Wiz. The other rookie in the top 5 is Dunn with the Suns.
Sarr has been pretty good on defense, legit bad on offsense. On D he has done well protecting the rim and is mobile enough to hang with guards on switches. He can get bullied easily though. On offense he shoots a lot of 3s and it isn't pretty, long slow windup leading to bricks. He has shown some flashes closer in but overall has been bad.
Carrington i am higher on. Very nice jumper with a high release that he can shoot off the dribble easily. Good ball handler and decent playmaker. Seems to be limiting his shots due to him being a rookie. Hasnt been taking it to the rim and doesnt handle contact well. Defense has been pretty good.
Our biggest story has been Bilal. He has been so much better than last year that i can't help but suspect there might be some small sample flukiness going on, but he is way more effective off the dribble this year.
