So, in the news that really determines how shit works in the US, and not culture war nonsense, we have a guy who made headlines grandstanding about what he called 'Obamacare'. The kind of guy who would NEVER vote for medicare-for-all, or 'any socialist' healthcare program - who has now found himself paralyzed significantly from doing a rich man's hobby.
And has actually somehow got a pretty tremendous amount of money. I've never seen a GoFundMe in the millions before. Usually people are really humble about what they ask for. And they get over-donated to the point of millions maybe. This ****ing guy put $2.5M. I'm sure he wished he put $25M.
Anyway, good little ironic twist story full of the components of things that actually ran politics pre-Trump. Laws. Career politicians and tea party era dickheads. True cause and effect of said laws and sentiments these people have spread for years.
Now he's a ****ing socialist at heart. Begging, any ****ing body, with no dignity for money. A virtual coffee mug being held out begging for change.
And this has liberals pretty riled the **** up. The timing of it is perfect. People are genuinely wishing this guy a bad outcome on his way to recovery...And they're not wrong. Their rage is not unjustified at all. And you never would've saw a mob of people wishing a guy a fate probably worse than death, and celebrating it. In the pre-Trump era.
That rage, that energy, the same energy people had for Obama in the Tea Party era, created the conditions to have Donald Trump. But what will Donald Trump rage create? When people see the things Republicans have spent 60 years saying they believe in, the ideals, the economic theories, the rhetoric, when they see, when it really comes down to it, they're not willing to live with the cost of Republican ideals, and that they can be paid and influenced by corporations to say anything...When that's blatantly obvious like in a story like this...What the **** then? What keeps people from losing their sanity?
