View Full Version : Kyle Kuzma is ruining the progress of the Wizards young core with his insane hogging
The man is taking 17.8 shots per game to average 17.2 points, an abhorrent 45.0 TS%. Since he's returned their top prospect Bilal Coulibaly's shots have gone down massively.

That stat sucks but they're likely looking to move him and if he can just hit some shots a healthy scoring average helps.

He refused to go to the Mavericks last year because he doesn’t want to be a role player. Who wants a guy like that?

If they were willing to trade Deni they will certainly be willing to trade Kuzma. I am sick of watching Kuzma and I definitely want to see him gone.
He took 18 shots in the first half last game. :facepalm

The Mavericks did. Demand isn't huge but he played an important role for a champion. Someone would want him.

The Mavericks wanted him because they thought he’d accept being a role player. He didn’t. That is going to tank his value if he won’t accept being a role player.

28 shots in 27 minutes iirc. Absolutely villainous behavior.

He's not worth much but I bet Milwaukee would give a future first. Some desperate team rolls the dice.
I don't think he cares about his trade value. Not sure what he does care about but getting value out of him is the Wizards problem not his.

I'm sure a lot of teams would be interested if he accepts being a role player, but that wasn't something he wanted to do last year.

What does him not accepting it look like? A refusal to stand in the corner? Missing on purpose?
What does he imagine he can do to force a larger role once a team decides to take his contract? He doesn’t strike me as a sit out type.
He had a lot of money to lose branding himself that level of garbage as a teammate.
He can express a desire not to go to a team but once he’s there…he just tanks his whole career?

Idk I imagine he will probably end up accepting it if push comes to shove, but it was interesting how he didn't want to join the Mavs last year, would have been a good place for him in terms of being part of a winning club. If he doesn't want that, I imagine he's probably wanting to be traded to another tanking team where he can shotjack.

He could have played the PJ Washington role, but better, so it seems like a bad decision to not join the Mavs.

I suppose if you’re just trying to secure your next contract, it looks better to put up 23 a game even on a bad team than to do 12 while winning. How many of those 12 point per game role players really get paid? It happens now and then, but having the big scoring numbers, makes it a safer bet.

Tbf he's taking the same number of shots he was the last 2 years when he averaged 21-22 ppg on 54-55%TS. I can't read too much into a 6 game sample size, my assumption is he doesn't remain at 45%TS the rest of the year.

Kuzma didn't even attempt a jumper in the 2nd half which seemed strange after his chucking last game.

54-55 TS% is still pretty damn bad in todays nba.
