He seemed ok with him when he was young, but as he got older, and Shaq transitioned to more of a godfather figure, he didn’t respect Dwight’s approach. He was always criticizing him, saying he could do more on offense, and Dwight finally started to clap back a little. he liked Brook Lopez and Bynum better because they were what he considered old style big man. Thing is, he eventually started liking Brook when he became shooter as well.

I think shaq was jealous of Dwights athleticism and physical frame because he was always known for that. Plus they both played for the magic and Orlando Dwight was an absolute physical monster. Jokic and Embiid are both fat and dumpy by comparison and rely on shooting / passing skill and their general girthy size.
