where did this wish version of aaron rodgers go?

i haven't even seen him covering boxing matches which are his specialty, arguably, he's the best boxing commentator in the market. he's good at basketball and other sports too.

Steven A took him to the ESPN offices to get “made”

I don’t know if I should say it’s to his credit or not, but I heard Smith on a podcast flatly say it’s his show and he didn’t think Max intellectual nuanced style was what he needed to play off of. He wanted a debate show not a bunch of nuanced discussions. He basically wanted a clown show so he manufactured one.

I give credit for the honesty, but it was pretty brutal.

This isn’t even the show I heard him explained it on the first time. But he was even more than asshole explaining it here

he literally went to the ESPN bosses and told them if Max is important to you just give him the show. Made it a “Him or me” thing.

Again, I can give credit for someone not doing the usual corporate thing and pretending none of that happened. It’s as honest as you will ever get in such a situation. But damn.

Stephen A is living off his name because his actual analysis is nothing - literally nothing - bloviating nothing-balls... I remember when he was reporting for the Sixers in the 90's and his insight was great - that's why he got to where he is... But now he just stinks and you can tell that he doesn't do his homework anymore... Anyone that saw his recent video of him practicing his jumper should know how much of a narcissistic fraud that he's become and severely lacking self-awareness... What a tool and loser

I get where he is coming from though. Max was bringing content for the reddit nerds. He turned debate into an academic exercise. I was not trying to find out what one number max had to explain why Josh Allen is really a better qb than Patrick Mahomes.

Once Max exposed SAS for knowing nothing about boxing, the writing was on the wall. And the best part is that Stephen would then try to school Max about basketball and Max is a New York guy who knows all about the major sports. So yes, the show was just about Stephen A. yelling and screaming and Max deserved better than that.

He has to wait til his ESPN contract ends (what I heard) before he works anywhere else. I think his contract runs out early next year. Then he wil make a YouTube or go to FS1

Stephen A. Smith was done with Max when T.O. said what he said:

Stephen A Smith having a career is probably one of the things Americans can be most ashamed about when it’s all said and done.

I couldn’t tolerate those shows past the age of 16. I’d rather hear what the average idiot here has to say about anything. At least I know they believe it.

I remember Max when I was in middle school when he hosted Around The Horn. When he started working with Stephen A, he was less controversial & more logical than Skip and that might have caused the ratings to dip over the years, but what Stephen A did to him was some straight snake shit. You won't see Max covering boxing anymore because HBO doesn't do boxing anymore which is a shame, it was 100x better than Showtime.

For those who don't know, look up what happened to Max's brother years ago by some crazy boxer, it's some sad stuff.

He's enjoying life. Not working but still getting paid $5M. I mean, it's the stuff dreams are made of.

At least until his contract expires later this year, in which he'll make a comeback.
