:facepalm

I actually believed this team could compete with this guy on the team, he was really the last piece of the puzzle (example, Clippers lose by 10-15 points a few nights ago and MD3 if he's fit). Without him, they're just an above average team in the league. Better than last season, will be irrelevant in the playoffs. Brutal, brutal loss and I still don't understand how he got injured. He looked perfectly ok when the game ended.

Terrible. Great well rounded combo guard.

Hopefully he has no problem getting a deal this coming summer.

Very good player but also ridiculously injury prone. Wasn't healthy for the Sixers either.

So far this season:

6 games played, 20 minutes a game, 10 points on 40-37-62 shooting, 3 rebounds, 3 assists.

You think the loss of D'Anthony Melton just completely changed their outlook for the postseason this year...?

I find that hard to believe.

Absolutely. Great on and off ball defender, spaces the floor and hit timely shots. Some of his bad shooting came after he came back where he wasn't fully fit. If he played the whole season, Warriors would lose only to the Cavs so far. The Warriors are a brittle team that need all their pieces to be an actual contender, including Melton. It also allowed the right mix for guards Steph/Podz, and Melton/Buddy. It all fit correctly.

I dunno.

The Bulls won a series, nearly two series without MJ. Clippers have won playoff series without Kawhi. The Knicks won without Ewing. Heat made a finals run with Herro out and NYK had success missing Randle. Oh and Lebron made a whole finals run without Love and Irving.

It's just hard for me to believe DAnthony Melton is the difference between a first round out and a conference finals. I'm not saying hes not a nice fit with them but come on. If theyre really a deep playoff team, in terms of both talent and execution, missing Melton is not going to stop them. Teams have won missing more than that before.

They're missing a starter. Yes Lebron made the finals missing his guys but he also played in a garbage conference, and 1 of them got injured right before he made the finals. We've seen how Lebron fares when it comes to NBA finals once he moved out West. The point is not a series, they could be a 2nd round team. If Melton is fit, they would be actual contenders because he gives them exactly what they need. Defense, spacing and shooting.

If Melton was healthy and played against the Knicks in the playoffs the Sixers win that series. His outside shooting, perimeter defence and rebounding were exactly what the team was lacking. No way would have Brunson had it so easy scoring.

This is very disappointing for DMelt. I loved him on the Sixers and hoped he was going to bounce back from his back injury and have a successful season with the Warriors. He is such a good complementary player to Steph especially with Klay gone.

Big loss for the Warriors.

The numbers of him & Steph playing together (albeit small sample size) were absolutely through the roof. As you said, he's the perfect complimentary player for Steph. Real shame about the ACL. I don't even know when it happened, nobody knew he got injured until hours after the game.

The sixers were lowkey better when he was starting with Harden than Maxey. A damn shame his back is shot. He was an amazing player

Of course he was. Now a bunch of bums are starting there. Kerr ends up playing Podz who has a shooting 45% TS more than Curry in the previous game. Another game where he goes full retard when it comes to role player, now he's embolden with his nonsense. Melton can score 10 points but he'll make the difference because players know he'll score if given the space, on top of being an elite defender and solid team defender. It was a great signing this summer, a real shame the injury was as bad as it is.

The team desperately needs a new starting SG.
