He recently passed away due to Cancer.
Just how good was Bob Love in his heyday?

He avg over 22 ppg with the Bulls between 1970-1976. Was a 3x All-Star, 2x All-NBA 2nd Team, 3x All-Defensive 2nd Team and was top seven in MVP voting twice.

A total of six top 20 finishes between 1970-1975. Bulls made the playoffs 5 of those 6 seasons making the Western Conference Finals Twice.

I was aware of him for Bulls reasons but somehow I thought he’d already passed. Maybe I was thinking Bob Boozer.

Just one of those guys history doesn’t really acknowledge at all. I wonder which players we talk about will be that in time. A lot of stars never make it out of the day they play legacy wise. Even some MVP champion types.

Go from loved by a city till nobody ever saying your name out loud who wasn’t related in like…a generation or two.

We are almost all gonna be that soon.

It takes so much to even get a footnote in history. There are whole thousand year periods the average person might know one name from. At best.

Dust in the wind.

Just gotta enjoy your time.

**** it. I’m gonna go to St Lucia. Assuming no storm is bearing down at least. I can’t sit still these days. Not enough time and too much to see.

Have you had a chance to visit The Lebron Museum in Akron yet?

Bob Boozer passed away years ago. Chet Walker passed away a few months ago tho.

I wonder how similar he is to guys like Bob Dandridge, Jamal Wilkes, Lou Hudson or his teammate Chet Walker who are all in the Hall of Fame?

First of all, RIP to this player. I consider myself a great follower of NBA history. However, I have never heard this guy's name. Sometimes I wonder how many great players were in the old days of the NBA. Seeing how superstars like Tracy McGrady, Karl Malone, David Robinson, etc. are almost forgotten nowadays, I suppose there are tons of players that were good in the 70s and 80s but you hardly hear their names anymore. People like Wes Unseld, Dennis Johnson, Elvin Hayes, Dave Cowens, Adrian Dantley, Alex English, etc.

Tmac is on tv. Why would you mention him? Drob and Maloneare almost forgotten. Heck I dont acknowledge Malone much because he was a scumbag person. Tmac is out there. And his name lives on during podcasts when stories are told, player comparisons etc.
