Tariffs are going to be inflationary. There's no disputing that," Rainey said during an interview with Liz Claman on "The Claman Countdown" on Thursday. "Likely consumers are going to pay more for the items that they pay and that these tariffs are applied to.
So much for tariffs not causing inflation.

fck walmart, they're a parasite on the american economy in various ways. they accelerated the death of small businesses tenfold.
fck em. and as if covid didn't already cause major inflation with no reverse action. these ass holes gladly maintained the prices sky high even after labor and product shortages came to an end.
they can suck it from behind for fcking over the middle and lower class.

edit: but yes, I've posted many times corporations destroy small businesses. This is why we need regulations to help small businesses compete.

Of course tariffs cause inflation, but we've also been living in a bubble of artificial deflation for the last 50 years. The ability to outsource manufacturing this cheaply did not exist for most of history. And the consequence free period of it is ending.
Overseas labor will not remain cheap forever unless you want to secretly sabotage foreign societies on a continuous basis. Giving raw materials a nice long boat ride overseas and back isnt what makes the product cheaper. Its the poor countries with the cheap labor. Thats the only reason it's worthwhile. Over time outsourcing builds those countries up, eventually to the point they start to have leverage over you if youve completely neglected your domestic manufacturing capacity.
Gravy trains all have a shelf life. You cant assume something easy always stays that way. Thats not reality. You have to be able to adapt.

Yeah, anyone who voted for Trump because they think he's gonna be able to keep everything the same as it always was are going to be mistaken and disappointed. It's impossible.
What hes going to do (hopefully) is to maximize opportunity available to those who want it, but in the context of the inevitable changes the future will bring.

It isn't just Walmart saying this. Vast majority of economists agree. This subject was touched on a lot during the election. The problem is too many were focused on dog eating.

The CEO of Walmart, a company that's profited around 15 billion per year after all tax and expenses for the last decade, would obviously love to pass on a 10% import tax on Chinese products to the consumer if they can, and what better way than to put it on Trump?
You have close to half the country who's probably OK now paying 10% more just as a protest so they can tell the other side how these prices are their fault and play the blame game, instead of simply not shopping at Walmart. If a company profiting 15 billion per year can't eat a 10% import tax, it shouldn't exist in it's current form and consumers should make that clear.

Who benefits the most in an economy without regulations?
Whoever can produce goods and services at the cheapest.
Who can do that, corporations or your local mom and pop?
Don’t hurt yourself thinking too hard. The answer is ‘corporations’, this was never meant to stump anyone.

https://www.businessinsider.com/major-study-finds-that-the-us-is-an-oligarchy-2014-4yes, both the dems and republicans are overwhelmingly pro deregulation, corporate tax cuts etc. dems have been running on the ‘but we won’t cut corp taxes as much as the GOP, and we won’t give as much bailouts as the GOP’ for years now without actually offering the middle class any solutions.

Corporate power being protected is a key tenet of fascism. https://voxpopulisphere.com/2017/08/23/lawrence-britt-14-characteristics-of-fascism/
Again it isn’t my problem you’re politically illiterate. You’re to going to whine about being called a fascist now but you openly support AFD which is a fascist party so what other conclusion am I supposed to draw?
