He's had to overextend himself somewhat to start this season, playing 38.1 minutes per game so far. His counting stats and advanced numbers are up. Has he gotten a little better or is he just having to do more?

see, point proven. teammates are playing well but all credit is given to jokic.

if his teammates were to play bad and they lose, "OMGeez his team sucks he has to carry them"

I dunno but somehow hes managed to find little ways here and there to pick up his complaining to the refs. I dont think a play has happened on either end of the court all season where hes not griping to the officials. It's annoying to watch.

Coupled with the Van Vleet thing, and the fact that everyone's complaining has started slipping out of control again, the league should step in and tighten the screws on complaining again.

I don't think his skill or BB IQ has gotten any better. He's been GOATed in those aspects for a long time now. If he has improved, it'd have to do with his strength IMO. It's a big part of his game; how he grapples in the paint for position and throws guys off balance.

I don't know if he is physically stronger but it seems like he comes back every season a little stronger. He's straight up bullying guys out there.

Bruh, he's putting up 30/14/11 on 67% TS and that true shooting percentage massively understates his shooting efficiency because he rebounds and putbacks a freakish amount of his shots. In fact, he's currently rebounding 26% of his own misses right now. His selfORB adjusted TS% is 72.2%.

30 ppg on 72.2%.

The most efficient 30 ppg of all time and it's not even close. And he's also getting 14 rebounds and 11 assists...

Enjoy it while it lasts folks. Most unique player in NBA history.

He's had to do more with Gordon being out injured. Gordon's an underrated role player. I'm actually surprised that the Nuggets are doing as well as they are without him. Good to see the other players, and Jokic, stepping up to fill in the gap.

thats great! now let's put it into the context of winning. and by winning i mean, how is it different than westbrooks triple dubs if he comes up short in the W category? it doesn't mean he's not great, just means he's not as great as you want him to be..

If we only factor in "on-court" play, and not resumes, Jokic at his peak (which is the last 4-5 years) is a top 5 player to ever touch the court.

Give me MJ, Lebron, Kareem, Jokic, and Shaq.

With Jokic, Denver’s offensive rating is 121, which would put them 2nd, just behind the Cavs but above the Celtics. Without him, his teammates are not playing well and it’s delusional to think otherwise.

Without Jokic, their offensive rating is 101, which is by far the worst in the league. Wizards are at 105.5.

I was watching ESPN the other day and windy said per 100 possession when jokic is on the floor they score 33 more points. That’s like adding jokic went he enter the game + giannias the leading league scorer at 32pt/gm. Crazy when jokic goes to the bench, your losing him + giannias lmao

Combo of Jokic getting a tiny bit better every year in maximum efficiency/reading/finishing. And many other opposing bigs getting worse/more-pu$$y.

You don't like Jokic for whatever reason. And that's it.

You didn't have a valid argument..

He's playing better than ever. Denver doesn't even lose the minutes he plays game after game. He's walking domination. And at this rate he will have the points, rebounds and assist titles. It's insanity what he's done.

I think the things he does are just becoming more and more routine for him. He's in a groove.

Thx for the tirade but can we talk about Jokic now?

How would you assess him?

Or can Jokic legally not be assessed because you feel his teammates arent given enough credit?

I think he's mastered the mechanics of being able to shine individually while being a rising tide for his teammates. Kind of like Steph sees Matrix code when shooting a 3, same for Joker executing half-court offense. Kind of like Bird where his body is slower than most everyone else athletically but his mind is 3 steps ahead on every play.

Last season was a weak jump shooting season for him, especially in the playoffs. During the regular season his 3 pt percentage was down a big and on long 2s it was down a lot.

It has clearly been a point of emphasis during the offseason. So far this season he is shooting 56% from 3. Obviously he won't continue at that rate but when he is shooting over 40% from 3 there is no way to defend him.

Yep, they lost in big part due to Jokic not being able to hit 3s. He got a lot of open 3s against Wolves but clanked most of them.
