Eh I still think this team will come back to earth and win like 60 games max and lose early in the playoffs. They don't scream contender to me.

I don't care what any stat or list or whatever wants to tell us, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen are not MVP candidates.

That list looks stupid. The only Cav that should be on that list possibly is Mitchell. It looks like it's weighing team record way too much. Brunson, Edwards, Kyrie, Curry, all deserve to be on that list over Allen and Garland.

Very OKC like this team.
Stacking young talent and keeping them together pays off.

Jarrett Allen's the most valuable player on that team.

60+ Wins is a good season considering the Cavs have only done it twice in history.

Cavs are very good. Just a step behind the Celtics.

Right now we're not even a quarter of the way through the season. It doesn't matter if you're 1-2 seed right now. What matters is if you're competitive for those seeds. End of season is what matters. Do you think Jokic isn't the leader for MVP right now even though the Nuggets are 8th currently? He's averaging 30/13/11 and his team did horrible when he was gone for those 3 games. He's the most important player on any team in the NBA currently.
Also about MVPs and seeds that's not been true lately about always having to be a 1-2 seeds. Before Westbrook in 2017 that was pretty much true, but now? No.
2023, Embiid, 76ers were 3rd
2022, Jokic, Nuggets were 6th
2021, Jokic, Nuggets were 3rd
2017, Westbrook, Thunder finished 6th

A frustrating 4th quarter to watch against the Hawks.
Cavs went up by 4 or 6 with about 7-8 minutes left. Then they just took a big shit and couldn't hit anything. Hawks played solid D, Cavs missed wide open shots while Hawks are hitting logo threes, Hunter making crazy ass and-1s. Cavs didn't score for about 4 straight minutes. Mobley goes up who was 6/6 at the line then misses 3 of his next 4, Niang was all over the place fouling people because he can't control his dad bod. Pretty sure the the Cavs only made one or two threes in that fourth quarter and it didn't happen until Jerome hit one with about 2 minutes left.
It looked like the Cavs were playing too fast. Trying to be one step ahead, but screwing up a dribble, or pass, or fumbling around the basket.

They lost two in a row, both to the Atlanta Hawks. They play the Celtics next on Sunday.
They seem to have lost their rhythm after their first loss in the season against the Cs earlier. I hope they can retaliate and get back on track somehow.

The Hawks have beaten the Celtics and Cavs this season, but have also lost to the Pistons and Wizards. Make it make sense lol.

Anything can happen but they feel like a paper tiger to me. Celtics and Knicks are the teams to beat out East. Bucks and the Heat darkhorses.

Cavs beat the Celtics.
That was a hard-fought 4th quarter at home.

This was the Cavs best win of the season. Close all game, had to fight back in the 4th to get the win. Came away with the win, their best player stepped up when they needed him too and they faced adversity against the Celtics who are on most people's lists are #1 in the NBA.

21 games in. Now it's clear they aren't a fluke at all especially beating Boston. Well played to anyone who called them legit super early.

The Cavs were at full strength, the Celtics were missing two starters. And it came down to the end.
It's a fine win for the Cavs but I hardly think a single narrow win against the shorthanded champs certifies the Cavs as anything.
Whatever they are or arent, neither is because of tonight's result. IMO.

They won, and that's always better than losing. It was important simply because it keeps them in first place. If you want to read more into it than that, I don't know about that. I suppose it has extra importance if the Celtics were somehow in their heads but for the Celtics it's only one game. They wanted to win, they did give their best effort but they didn't leave that game scared of Cleveland.

God the last 30 seconds of that game took like 10 minutes.

They will start losing ... no teams like the lowly Cavs can have a winning percentage without a super super star.
I will guess they land in 3rd or 4th place depending on Knicks and Bucks.
When they play the Bucks next time , they will lose.
(last time they played Bucks looked dysfunctional, and now they are rolling)

The Wizards back to back losses we were missing some good players like Bogi, Hunter, Dyson Daniels, etc.. We played David Roddy like 30+ minutes those games while Garrison Matthews and Keaton Wallace were getting anywhere form 20 to 25 minutes.
Still no excuse but when you are starting a young rookie in Risacher and having to go down to the 3rd best option on some good minutes on a back to back it can get ugly lol.
Now that we are healthy again we are starting to round into a solid team imo as everyone starts to gel more with each other and where their position is on the team.
