Feel free to contribute, but this will just be a few that came to mind. I was reading some old articles about Sam Perkins because of a topic earlier And saw it mentioned that he was famous for hitting the game winner in game, one of the 91 finals. My immediate thought was “I don’t think he is. I don’t think people know that happened”. So here we are….

https://i.ibb.co/8jrtZp9/IMG-0611.gif

The people who don’t remember watching it live have never seen that shot I assume. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on any kind of TV show or random clip of playoff moments. Just one of those that melts into history. I actually think I’ve seen Jordans attempted game winner right after written more. I think(think…not sure) It may have been one of the misses from the “I’ve missed ____ shots” from the “I fail. And that is why I succeed” Jordan commercial.

This here

I feel like I’ve seen that rattle out in a commercial or two.

What immediately comes to mind as big plays that somehow didn’t get any historical notoriety?

if LeBron had a block and save in bounds like that to end a finals game, it would probably be in the new NBA on NBC intro for the playoffs forever.

I feel like most people have probably already forgotten the Clippers having the greatest ever comeback in a fourth quarter against the Grizzlies in 2012.

I certainly did. Usually when I think of biggest playoff comeback, I think of the Celtics and the Nets in 200…2? I think it may have been 26 points and Paul Pierce had 40ish. Probably a wild number of free throws.

The way teams go on crazy runs with the threes these days I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s no longer the record

Here’s another good one. Brian Scalabrine, a guy INFAMOUS for being BAD (by NBA standards, some amateurs learned the hard way he is in fact amazing at basketball compared to non NBA players) has an insanely clutch performance in a big playoff game

Imo easily the most forgotten big shot of the last 25 years

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bua5ldlgfPM

Game 5, down 3, Clippers one stop away from going up 3-2 to clinch the series at home, and Bell hits this insanely clutch shot to send the game to double OT, where they go on to win the game and the series in 7.

It's so forgotten about I literally couldn't find a non shitty upload of it that wasn't from 17-18 years ago.

Duncan's ridiculous shot to put the Spurs ahead before Fisher's 0.4 shot.

LeBron's game 5 performance vs the Pistons in 2007 is kinda forgotten.

A personal favorite of mine that never gets talked about. Crazy and 1 layup to put the game to bed.

LeBron trolling the Boston crowd, seeing the fans faces always makes me laugh. They are so pissed. :oldlol:

Horry JUST missing another potential title swinging shot in '03. The Lakers could've 4 peated if that shot goes in

Nash hitting a huge 3 against his former team to send the game to OT and avoid playing a Game 7

Dirk's 50 piece in the '06 WCF. Seriously, how many guys have we seen drop 50 in the conference finals or Finals

-Rex Chapman shot
-Reggie shot vs Nets (I think they still lost)
-T-Mac game winner vs Dallas (they usually sh!t on his playoff work)
-Luka vs Suns a few seasons ago was ridiculous
-Baron Davis hit I think a game winner which was waved off. They showed the replay and he got it off well before the buzzer sounded

I saw the Perkins winner as it happened back in 91 then the subsequent Jordan rattle in and out miss. It's probably lost to time because it ultimately led to nothing good for the Lakers( as far as the series outcome), and Jordan went nuts the 2nd game highlighted by the right to left switcharoo lay-up. That's pretty much what people remember most from that finals ( and MJ crying with the trophy at the end).

I was at this game. Ray Allen went 0-13 from the field after breaking the record for 3s in a Finals game a few nights prior. An absolutely nuts finish there though.

Mine is Karl Malone basically bear hugging Clyde so Stockton could hit a game winning 3 on us to prevent a Rockets v. Bulls finals. Ugh I still hate those sobs.

-The Tayshaun Prince block in game 2 of the 2004 ECF with his team already down in the series 1-0. If it never happened they would have gone to overtime
and then who knows...? Maybe the Pacers end up going 2-0 to Detroit, win the series and win the championship against an injury-repleted Lakers team. Or the Lakers win, they don't trade Shaq and the Kobe-Shaq dynasty goes on for even longer.
-Rookie Derrick Rose scoring 46 or 48 (I don't remember) in his first playoff game against then current champions Boston Celtics.
-Also, Reggie Miller has many winning shots that people don't remember: Game 1 against the Bulls in the 1998 WCF, game 1 against the Sixers in the 2001 first round and game 1 of the ECF in 2004.
-Larry Johnson's 4 point play in the ECF.

I will try to remember more.

-Rex Chapman shot

My first thought. Its forgotten because the Suns lost the game in OT.

I would say thats one of the most famous. Certainly not forgotten. 4 point plays were so rare back then and to win the game and in the PS was a unicorn moment.

Sure did. Karl thought he was playing football for a second.

And at the time, it seemed like nobody saw it besides Rockets fans:banghead:
