Why doesn’t he get playing time?

From what I remember, when he plays he produces.

He was also projected to be a top 7 pick and fell to the 19th or 20th

What’s the deal with him?

Maybe something behind the scenes, or maybe they just didnt have minutes for him once Steven Adams came back. Either seems plausible.

He would play a lot more if we weren't doing so well. His BBIQ isn't just there. And this season he couldn't even shoot the 3 so no point of playing him. Rockets already have 5 talented players who are 23 and younger and contributing to winning. I also like Reed Sheppard even though he has been underwhelming. When his shots starts to fall he will be really good.
Long story short, he isn't that good.

Damn. Sucks for Whitmore. On paper, he looked like he was playing well

Rockets are going to be a fun team to watch. They're going to compete for a long time like the Thunder

To those who have seen him play a lot, how would you describe his game
