It was legitimate last year, altho this year it's completely worthless.

It will eventually be legitimate tho. Over time people will go with the program. Thats how it works.

I personally dont see anything wrong with it currently, except for the anti-Lebron bias the refs showed in this year'd edition. But even if you all hate it, it will catch on over time and the same people vocal about hating it now will celebrate it if thats what other people are doing in a few years.

The NBA is partnering with brutal humans-right suppressing African dictators and rrr3 hasnt said a WORD. Because then he couldnt justify watching every night, and he wont give the NBA up in support of oppressed Africans. He has nothing else going on, it's way too much of an ask.

He hates the tournament now because it's edgy way to feel but in the end he doesnt have a choice. He will dance to the NBA's tune because thats all hes got. In a few years he'll be decked out in tournament gear and acting like he was about it all along.

Put the cup finalists seeding at the bottom, so you have an incentive to qualify normally also.

Also, it matters less if good teams slack off a bit, than bad teams just mailing it in from the beginning.

The only thing I thought could be cool is if the cup could be open for all teams in the world, or at least US teams, so g-league and college. Of course you'd have the non-NBA teams play each other first to get into the cup later.

This is how it works in Europe in soccer. An amateur team in soccer might qualify for the international competition through that, though it never happens, but lower ranked clubs generally approach this with huge intensity because just playing a game against a pro team is a big event.

Give the winner an automatic playoff berth would be good incentive to get mid teams to try hard. Also a pizza party in the locker room provided for free by Papa John's. We need to give the players more of a reason to play with some urgency in the regular season.
