Louie, I am so... SO sorry for your lost. I had a friend die in Pennsylvania once too. I only knew him as a child and then I saw many years later on Facebook he died of a drug overdosed as an adult. When we were kids he had some emotional problem and once tried to choke another kid with his hands on the school bus when we were in like third grade.

Thats a true story, I hope it helps.

Are you still in touch with any friend or family member who was close to your friend, around the same time you first met him ? Or around the same time the BOTH of you were closest to that friend ? If so, I highly advise spending more time with them ASAP.

Don’t mourn as much at first, talk about how great a friend he was, focus on love for him and everyone he loves, and focus on talking about the good times and the funny times first. When time is right, everybody y’all weee friends with during those times should also come up, and y’all can get in touch with them, and make sure everyone is doing as well as they can.

Task yourself with being the leader of doing all that, reaching out yo everyone y’all knew during the best times, if you can, and do it all, knowing it’s all in honor & respect of your friend who left too soon.
