On Friday night, the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz tied an NBA record when both teams made a ton of 3-pointers.

In the Suns' 134–126 victory over the Jazz, both teams made 44 3-pointers in total, with 22 made by each team. Utah shot 22-of-39 (56%), while Phoenix shot 22-for-45 (49%) from beyond the arc.

The Hornets and Bulls set the record for the most missed threes last night with 75. I would imagine every record relating to single game threes other than the individual record is up for grabs every week or so right now.

Honestly, the NBA has become close to unwatchable. There's no structure at all, everyone is just running around, falling on the floor, jacking up 3s and nothing else.

This is not good basketball, it is like watching a bunch of ADHD middle graders. It looks awful, it doesn't look like it's the best basketball player in the world.

84 attempted threes is a ****ing disgrace. All-star game nonsense.

Adam Silver either needs to make wholesale changes right now or the NBA need to sack his ass. Game unwatchable, ratings on the floor.

He's been a complete disaster.

That's the issue with the 3pointer. It's completely broken the logic of the game. You don't need to out-assist, out rebound the opponent, or have less turnovers. The keys to the game now is take and make more 3's, and **** the X's and O's.

The fans should have showered the arena with boos witnessing the 75 missed attempts Blaze is talking about. That must have been vomit-inducing....

An analyst (I cant remember which) about 5 years ago said the game now is simply this. "Make your threes and you win. Don't and you lose".

That was 5 years ago. Now that is quite literally the gospel rule. Never mind strategy, matchups or defensive setups. Just keep jacking up threes all game. It's a shit video game come to life.

Yep. On a separate note but IMO all part of declining viewership based on how they've marketed the game, even star matches are meaningless nowadays with how defenses are played. Comparing Shaq or Hakeem vs Admiral or Ewing, or Duncan matching up against Dirk or Garnett, we could better measure these guys because they were mostly putting up these numbers on each other. Today, assuming they even bother to show up on the same night, asides from a switch or 1-2 odd possessions the marquee names barely interact on the court.

coach bud has really tried to use this technique all season despite it no suceeding without KD. it's ruined Books game bc he's never been an excellent 3pt shooter and his strong suit is the mid game which he also uses to get into a rhythm, without it he's erratic and can't get a good offensive rhythm. his numbers are down all across the board.

Silver has been awful. He's a DEI hire and his caving to players has made fans hate the players.

They need to fire him, the world is moving away from woke 3 point nonsense. We need to go back to good old fashioned heterosexual butt to groin post play.

The league has been lazy on defense for years now. Just imagine if curry ball takes over in international leagues. The game would be doomed by becoming one-dimensional. :facepalm

didnt last long

A much more settled down Klay Thompson made a difference for the Mavericks in their second meeting this season with Golden State, a 143-133 victory for Dallas. Thompson scored 29 points, knocking down 7-of-11 from deep as part of a 3-point extravaganza that saw the Warriors and Mavericks combine to make 48 3s, the most in a game in NBA history. “
