Contradictory yet still wise words.
Sometimes violence is just violence and can’t be excused. Like Bynum taking out JJ.
https://youtu.be/3ZIcynYImzs?si=RM3idl1twOAp73y2
Far as I know, all he did was play well. I don’t think he did any extra extra on top of it trying to be a dick. That’s just being a sore loser.
But one could argue both the Malone elbow on Isiah and definitely Laimbeer returning the favor were understandable.
https://youtu.be/6li3OnFrLl0?si=gblOeYmXwpBCBqAS
in Karl’s case, Isiah was purposefully embarrassing one of his best friends and his heterosexual life partner John Stockton. That was a “Stop ****ing around” elbow. He wouldn’t admit it at the time, but there’s an interview with him talking to Isiah about it and he admitted he meant to do it, but didn’t mean for it to be that bad.
Laimbeers response is just downright respectable. Got to take him out. You have to. And though you can’t see it there Karl was down for quite a while. This is what he had to say about it by the way….
Jazz forward Karl Malone said Sunday he isn't concerned about whether Detroit's Bill Laimbeer received a stiff enough penalty for throwing him to the floor last Friday night in the Delta Center. Malone just wants the issue to end.
"I didn't even watch the play over again (on television)," said the Mailman. "Maybe it looked worse than it was. As big a jerk as he (Laimbeer) is, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt."Laimbeer was fined $5,000 and suspended for one game by the league, it was announced Saturday. Malone said NBA security contacted him to get his side of the story. "I told them let's let this thing die," Malone said. "Why let this thing drag on? I could have been like them and kept it going, but it's really not that important. I refuse to be like them."
"I refuse to carry that stuff on," continued the Mailman. "Look at the way they ripped and roared and screamed and yelled. I don't believe it should drag on like that. I have more important things to do."
After the incident Friday, Laimbeer said he was going for the ball and Malone simply "got his fat head in the way" and added that Malone "went for the crowd sympathy factor."
Malone countered by saying, "My daughter hits harder than that."
"I couldn't care less even if they fine the guy," Malone added. "Guys just do that stuff to get recognition. That's been his whole way to get recognition. Why feed his ego?"
He was certainly an asshole and other worse things, but he wasn’t generally going to bitch about getting hit knowing how he played himself.
Long story short violence is sometimes the answer…..even while it isn’t.
You remember seeing any incidents of NBA violence that got punished, but you felt were completely justifiable?

You know who Ive noticed is Andrew Bynum's EXACT spirit animal in the NFL?
George Pickens.
These two dudes do not give a **** about ANY authority, public opinion, repercussions. A lot of dudes that get in trouble are trying to be edgy, or trying to be gangsta, and sometimes arent that bright, so they get in trouble and then they shape up when punished in order not to lose an opportunity. Or maybe refuse to shape up and try to act hard and loud to prove some kind of point about how badass they are. Whatever it is, it involves some kind of recognition of the outside world and a calculated social play.
Bynum and Pickens are sociopaths in like, the clinical definition. The way Carmine Galante was. Like they just do not care about anything but their own world, they're utterly oblivious to the rebuke or requests of others, and in such a casual nonchalant way. Theres no facade, theyre not playing the asshole for the cameras. They do what they want no matter the consequences and just do not give a FVCK.
I mean it's a dubious way to live if you wanna get anywhere in society, but it shows a pair of stones you have to respect. Very few people are 'alpha' in the scientific, clinical sense like those guys. Theyre clinical sociopaths, just not wired to be apologetic, compliant, motivated, or anything else the world expects them to be, or that they might benefit from being at times. Truly unbothered.
It's fascinating.

Bynum's final meltdown in practice in Cleveland(?) is a legendary example of this.

:lol
Bynum seemed to generally be a cool headed guy though in his career. Barea was an annoying little prick. :lol He had it coming being so short and stubby yet still embarrassing us.

When your opponent :
1. refuses to compete fairly, cheats repeatedly when warned
2. wants to become your oppressor instead of competitor
3. Draws first blood on purpose
4. Is unremorsefully cheap/dirty/underhanded
In those cases and many others, when you don’t have other means of effective recourse:
VIOLENCE IS 100% THE BEST ANSWER in those scenarios.
And many more.

even while being pro physicality to the extent fans on here seem to literally think I want to watch the game to see people punched in the face….. I don’t think “He’s small and styling on us…**** him up” Is a sentiment I can cosign. Not like he was on some Jrich shit
https://i.ibb.co/C1k3s6f/IMG-8410.gif
He wasn’t even on some Tim Hardaway shit
https://youtu.be/IHrygsvvQ48?si=9cSzKlIRoTl1L7uY
and that happened when being small and styling on people just might be enough provocation to have hands put on you. That was the “Oh he think shit sweet around here. He needs a reminder we keep it real tart in Cleveland.” era.
Jj was just playing well while not being imposing.
If that gets you a justified Doomsday Device:

Steph should have been down for the 3 count for all those shimmy’s.

Curry isn't that small, he's like the same size as John Starks. And the same weight as reggie. Barea always looked like a midget, he even has trex arms. You can't let him keep getting away with it.

He Put on some muscle and weight as he aged, which most people should but he was styling on people as this guy
https://www.hostpic.org/images/2412192222580366.jpeg
Which by these standards should probably get him put through a table.
He wasn’t as small…but he stacked way more obnoxious behavior on top of it. At least if you’re easily offended by such things.

JRich and Hardaway are two guys i wouldn't want to mess with. Not many guys would get up in Barkley's grill the way Hardaway did.
:oldlol: @ Pickens no Fs given
