This goes back to 1953, the season before the shotclock was introduced.
It's interesting seeing who was on national TV all the time back then.

-All-Star games way back in the day were televised Tuesdays.
-Some Finals games were played at noon.
-All of the Finals games weren't even shown on TV. (Imagine watching a great game 1 and 2 and then for game 3, you know what we're not gonna broadcast it.)
-The Lakers played a playoff game vs the Pistons at a high school in 1960. It was live on NBC.
-Up until 1986, some playoff games were on tape delay still.
-The champs didn't always open the season on national TV. (I'm looking at the 95 NBA schedule and the Rockets didn't have a national televised game until December ... crazy!)

I didn’t see WGN in there but maybe I just missed it. Best place for non major network bulls games for a long time.

They just broadcasted Bulls games right? If so, that's why they're probably not listed.

Has to be Hubie Brown.

BTW, for those who don't know, his one and only game this season (and his final game ever) is on Feb 9. Bucks game on ESPN in the afternoon.

Not missing that game. GOAT analyst.

Now you gotta love Proctor. Come on now, he logs in and gives you consistent Xiao trolling and obsessive Harden hatred. You gotta give him credit.

Jokes, but he's probably the longest tenured one. I seen brent musburger back on the mid 70s tho. He's been around longer but did multiple sports. Hubie just strictly NBA.

So, a lot of teams had games on PPV in the 90s. Interesting.
A blurb about the Blazers from 89-90.

Trail Blazers: The team is producing fifteen games that will be seen on a pay-per-view basis. Customers can either buy individual games or the entire package. The games will be available on cable systems covering about eighty percent if the state (presumably, of Oregon; the article doesn't specify which state it's talking about). Major sponsors include Miller Beer, Toyota, Coca-Cola, Pay Less Drugstores and Alaska Airlines.
