Dejounte Murray is apparently back too from a long injury.
They apparently looked good last night with both those guys back... but they are WAY too far behind to even have a prayer at the playoffs.
Theyre more or less on pace for the best lottery odds. Now it looks like theyre just gonna climb their way out of a decent lottery position, but still nowhere near the playoffs.
Does that make sense?
Are they really gonna just keep playing Zion thru the remainder of a wasted season and once again think "Next year it'll be different...?"
What is the goal here? What is the plan?

Raise his stock as high as possible so they can trade him.

Ah, but there is one fatal flaw in your design, Professor.
Lebron still exists.

Crazy that this dude is in his 6th season and only played 191 games.

I was going to make a thread about who misses a game first? Zion or Kawhi, and Kawhi already beat me to it before I could even make a thread. At this point it's comical.

I think at this point they have to look to moving on without Zion and blowing it up. He's just too injury prone. They should try to move Ingram and McCollum if they can.

I just dont know how easy this is tbh. It's like with Butler, the teams in the market for these guys are gonna be the contenders, but their salaries are such that in order to trade for them you have to basically give up one of the centerpieces you already have, and then whats the point?
The way teams are built now, where you max 2 or 3 guys and pay everyone else the remaining scraps (relatively speaking)... it doesnt really make it easy to acquire another star midseason without moving more or less laterally. Especially considering Jimmy's age/drama and Ingraham/McCollum's recent playoff history, who's gonna offer anything that does New Orleans any good? Trade offers may be in limited supply here. But you never know, maybe some kind of multi-team deal makes it easier to find trades that work for everyone.

Or that this franchise/city has failed for 50 years with every franchise player (Paul, Davis, Maravich, Zion).
Maybe if they try to build around a rookie for the fifth time it'll work.

Carmelo Anthony believes Zion Williamson has been overly pampered throughout his career, leaving a negative impression on him. This coddling has contributed to a lack of professionalism in Williamson’s approach to the game. It has hindered the advancements that other players have achieved in the realm of player empowerment. “This is like the dark side to player empowerment,” Anthony said. “We fought for player empowerment, taking a stand, sitting in lockouts, and sitting across these owners, and really figuring out the business of this game.” – via Clutch Points
NBA legend Carmelo Anthony did not hold back in expressing his disappointment with New Orleans Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson. His criticism arose after Williamson poorly handled things while the team struggled with a dismal 9-32 record. After missing almost 27 games due to injuries, Williamson finally returned. However, his return was overshadowed by a one-game suspension for arriving late to a team flight, which only fueled Anthony’s frustration. “With Zion, in my opinion, everybody always coveted him,” said Anthony. “He doesn’t have the resume that we all would be looking for, that we think he should be at, at this point in his career, butbut he has the star power. So when you have the star power everything else comes with that. “Inside that organization has to be some real conversations with this man. Do you want to be here, if you want to be here, we’ve got to figure this s—t out. What you’re doing being an hour late, that s—t is unacceptable.” – via Clutch

One of many reasons why this league is dog shit. Most unlikable athletes in all of professional sports. No other league comes close to these prissy babies.

Almost as good as carmelo talking shit! 🤣
DeMarcus Cousins on Jusuf Nurkic: “I feel like this is a guy who’s thinking a little too much of himself. I don’t think Phoenix views him as the catalyst of a player to where his feelings, emotions, or opinions even really matter. He’s a role player, and he’s there to fill the role. Their three main guys are the highest-paid on the team, so to even come out and speak on that, I think it’s kind of foolish on his part. Nurk, just sit back and wait your turn. You’re not that guy. You’re just not that guy. – via YouTube

Well I guess we have to consider a few things:
The goal of the season
The goal of future seasons
Entertaining fans and playing fun basketball so fans get their money's worth when they were actually watch the game in person
If Zion is healthy, the priority I guess is to entertain fans now and make basketball fun to watch in New Orleans
