Who'd you take to start a team?

Remember when i was laughed @ for saying that Wemby is already better than any form of AD....Already in his 2nd season....I guess yall finally started watching games :facepalm. This man is going to be better than Giannis by this time next year. He already is honestly, he just doesn't know it yet.

Wemby, only hesitation would be injury concerns considering his frame.

Luka. He's still young, dragged over achieving teams already to the WCF and Finals. Proven playoff closer and offensive player.

Wemby is going to need a true #1 beside him. Those don't grow on trees. Wemby is not going to like playoff physicality. He had a glimpse of that when Giannis bodied him up on the perimeter and Wemby looked like a high school player playing against a grown man last night.

Doncic is a great offensive player and terrible defensive player. Wembanyama is a very good offensive player that will be the DPoY every year until the voters get sick of giving it to him. And while worrying about how Wembanyama will stay healthy is a legit thing to speculate about by the time Doncic comes back from his current injury he may already be ineligible for postseason awards.

It could well end up being Yama, but at this point nobody has any idea how he'll perform in the playoffs. And it's not clear if he'll evolve to be an offensive centerpiece. Whereas Luka has been the driving force and a playoff riser for teams that are decently talented but nothing special since coming into the league at 18. Hes accomplished more in big moments from 18-24 than many stars' entire careers.

So at this point, until we see Yama dominate multiple playoff series, which Im not saying wont happen, I think it's a disrespect not to take Doncic. Yama is still very young and theres no real proven prototype for him in terms of all time greats. Right now it's just an assumption. Doncic isnt perfect but he is already great.

I'm not sure being a terrible defender is that high on the impact list for Doncic. The Mavs had the best defense for the second half of the season + one of the best in the playoffs last year. He was not surrounded by DPOY or All-NBA defenders either.

The NBA is a pick and roll hunting league. If he was such an awful defender to the point it has a large impact that would be reflected in the teams defense because teams would attack him non stop to much higher than league average success. That didn't happen.

Obviously Luka has proven more at this point, but I'm a Wembeliever.

Can't go wrong with either and if they were american their potential rivalry would be huge news.

Jokic, Luka, Wemby, Giannis, those are actually a great group of competitors, but american media and the NBA refuses to actually promote them, when in reality they are unique players, great competitors and could easily carry the league if they got the attention they deserve.

Instead the media people still only care about Curry, Lebron, Durant etc and try to hype up weak american stars like Tatum, Zion etc.

Luka is not a terrible defender at all anymore, he has improved every year and is an excellent defender against larger players.

He just doesn't give effort in the first half of regular season at all.

He did get hunted in the Finals. Conversely when Wembanyama is on a team that makes the playoffs the opposing offense will go out of their way to avoid his territory.

The main issue with Wemby is durability. If he doesn’t fall apart, he is destined to be one of the greatest ever, and a fit on any team.
