Can't find the "rate the last movie you saw" thread and was too lazy to look for it, but damn that movie was really good. The second half of the movie kinda reminded me of Uncut Gems in terms of how chaotic yet captivating it was. The ending was really weird, yet very deep at the same time. I highly recommend you guys watch it. Best movie I have seen in a while.

Want to watch for sure. Have you seen Sean Baker’s other stuff? All really good.

I heard good things about Florida Project and Tangerine but haven't watch them yet, will for sure check them out after watching Anora.

Both great. Red Rocket is very good too.

Best pic will go to The Brutalist or Anora.

It's pretty high on my top ten list right now... it's also getting a Criterion release

So how did you interpret the ending? Being as tho it’s left up to the viewer

Not every movie can depict to class-act citizens like Goodfellas did.

I'd have no problem with Anora winning best picture.

It is amazing.

Shocked it won an Oscar. It was good but not Oscar worthy. Modern day pretty woman with elementary comedy. Weak year for movies letting Anora win so many Oscar’s

The Substance was my choice as the best movie of the year but I had Anora at second.

I never heard of the movie until tonight. I might check that out and The Substance to see Demi's highly plastic surgery boobs and body.

Saw a trailer in the cinema and it seemed super weak/basic.

The movie is way better than its trailer. Trailer is kinda corny.

Anyways, I saw this coming months in advance before the nominees were even announced.

Good movie when you’re bored. Expect a lot of senseless scenes and cheesy comedy. I’m going to check out The Substance. Not a big fan of horrible movies.

It was meh. The only thing I found good about it it at least interesting was the morality of taking time away from your lesser perceived self and making things worse because you value physical beauty over everything else.

Then when you get to the end you're sitting there thinking "What the **** am I watching?" Lol

Also Margaret Qualley's nude scenes were fake. Especially her breast scenes. She was wearing prosthetics which you can almost completely tell look fake because they're too perfect looking. It just looked weird to me.

Spoilers. The ending to this movie basically won it the Oscar. It was one of the most powerful endings to a movie I have seen in a while.

It was the best of the 10 noms, much better than Pretty Woman. Madison's accent work alone was incredible to bounce between Russian and a Jersey accent along with physical comedy. Baker also greatly improved his pacing from his earlier work that was all good (Tangerines, The Florida Project, Red Rocket). My vote would have gone to Flow that's a classic but it got the animated award. I'm Still Here also won for foreign and I still have to see The Girl with the Needle but that was another good pick.

We'll see what happens with Wicked Part II next year, because the musical is the only thing that the Academy has been kinda screwing up with lately. They've missed with Frozen and A Star is Born and didn't even nom The Greatest Showman and those are classics.
