I feel like this would be a cool thing to do one summer instead of the regular FIBAs. Basically divide the world up into four regions of basketball and have a lil mini tourney. For instance:
Americas: United States of America/Canada/Greenland, Mexico, S. America)
This basically takes team USA and adds the Canadian guys. Shai, Murray, Edey, Brooks. At least whichever ones can get a spot. Im blanking on any current players in the NBA from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and so on but theoretically theyd be on this team as well.
Western Europe: Wembanyama, Wagner Boyz, Schroeder, etc
Eastern Europe: Jokic, Doncic, Bodanovic, etc, maybe Markannen depending on where you place Findland.
Africa: Embiid, Siakam, Okongwu, etc
Im not sure you could really create a team from Asia that would be competitive but you could try. Hachimura... that tiny guard on the Grizzlies, Kawamura? Maybe part-pinoy players like Jalen Green and Jordan Clarkson would be down.
I think itd be cool to see guys play together who normally dont. It'll never happen, but I think you could do a pretty competitive tournament this way.
