I was thinking about any year, I picked Hill and Thurmond as my bench guys for either spacing or defending.

Also having Wilt and Duncan (with Thurmond rotating in) in the paint not going to miss a lot of rebounds there.

Nate Thurmond, one of the most overlooked players EVER. People talk about his lack of All-NBA Teams but never bring up he was top ten in MVP voting six times being as high as number 2 one year right behind Wilt.

People also overlook how great Grant Hill was in the 90's. Came in as ROTY and then right into the MVP top ten every season in Detriot. He was the next MJ but he really was the prototypical Lebron in the sense that he can play 1-4 without issue.

So while everyone is building around stars...my focus was team play

I like this team. Was thinking of having Curry for 10's, but wanted a small forward who is not ball dominant and knock down 3s so went with Durant. Could have easily still got Bird at the 3, but I feel he is the perfect 4 in today's league.

Kareem is the better overall player, but Walton provides more defense and passing. Don't really need Kareem's scoring.

Walton, Bird, & Jokic all on the same team would be sick. Highlight passes all day.

No one forgot how good Hill was. He came in the league with hype. Not sure about Nate. Was he considered the next Russell?

Its also I dont see many other PGs that make a lot more sense and not lose much on another player from that era. Im not a huge fan of the CP3 pick tbh but he just fits best on such team, too.

This is a solid team. I'd probably go Russell for Wilt in the 60s personally.
