A conversation that was had on here because of like two weeks of those games

Senses were come to by the end of the season though this song coming out gave Flip another 2-3 moments of shine when he’d hit a 3 and they would play it

he really tried to be Paul George to Ray Allen‘s Danny Granger when he was hurtful like a month. Speaking of which is Paul George completely taking Danny Granger’s career when he got hurt the greatest usurper situation in memory?

he just slid so comfortably into that spot and never gave it back. Ray cut off the coup attempt immediately upon return.

Who is the last guy to get immediately replaced and thrown in the trash when his replacement proved as good or better for less money? There have to be more examples than Granger and Paul George that’s just the most perfect one. It’s like Granger never existed.

Sho Now that I think about it…..

Monta Ellis and Steph Curry?

I’ve read Ellis is the one who got traded for Bogut and not Steph because that’s who the Bucks wanted but I obviously can’t verify it. Either way he neatly usurped his position as a guy who was thought to be redundant.

Didn't the GS fans boo the owner at an event after that trade? Pretty funny in hindsight.

Did he? He seemed to have cooled off big time when Ray came back.

The fastest of them all ricky green once the comedian franklayden got a clue. Should have happened from day 1 when they could have gotten something for him instead of just losing him in the expansion draft

Yeah, Stockton pretty much threw him in the trunk never to be seen again. Which reminds me of Terrell, Branden and Mark Price. Branden was on several of those early 90s teams that only come up in Jordan specials but nobody really acknowledges it. Then he just slid it right into Mark Price’s spot when he got hurt.

that’s what I’m saying. Ray cut that shit off quick. He held him off. Not everyone manages it.

it was Chris Mullins jersey retirement night. The fans booed the **** out of everyone and people were left wondering why the fans hated Mullin before it was explained why they were mad.

The Warriors supposedly offered both klay and Steph Curry for Chris Paul when he was demanding a trade, but he wouldn’t agree to resign in Golden State. I bet the fans would’ve cheered that acquisition.

I’ll give them a bit of a pass because he had that reputation for bad angles at the time. And I think Bogut was injured too. I don’t think it was so much of belief that he could never be a star. They probably just didn’t think he would toughen up.

No I'm saying Ray didn't cut off anything cause when Ray came back Flip already cooled off for some time.

The discussion had certainly cooled but these are his last 10 games before Ray came back.

And that’s 2004 not 2024. That’s the very year that forced the NBA to change the rules and make it easier on guards. That was unusually good production for a guy nobody had heard of who is stepping in for a superstar. He barely played those 2 zero point games of course.

He was never realistically gonna take Ray Allen’s job, but the discussion was amusing. I might actually be able to find some of it. I’ll give it a shot and see if I can show you how stupid we were.

^I mean the guy doesn't even start that 10 games. And he shot quite poorly. And they were losing a lot.

I'm just saying Ray certainly didn't cut anything off.

I remember Caron Butler having a great season his rookie year (2002-03) and being seen as the franchise player, and then getting injured the following year and Dwayne Wade taking over as the leader of the team and number one option. Caron became kind of role-player for the Heat and was included in the Shaq trade in the off-season. Also, coincidentally in the same time period, Dajuan Wagner was considered the future of the Cleveland Cavaliers after scoring 100 points in a High-School game and being considered number 1 prospect in the country. He had a solid rookie year but LBJ was drafted in the next draft and few people seemed to care about Dajuan anymore. He just retired after 3-4 years due to injuries.

These are just the ones that came to my head, but these situations happen all the time in the league. The Danny Granger-Paul George change of roles was wild, though.

Those arent the 10 games you were looking for in an argument "he cooled himself off"

My grandpa (fan of the Warriors since they moved to the Bay) wanted them to keep Ellis. "That dang Curry kid just shoots 3's. Weak ankles!"
