Why are the Clippers better this season than people expected

Kawhi put up 23 points against the Nets on Wednesday.

And he's shooting 8 for 12 right now against the Lakers

Clippers up 19, mid third quarter

Looking more at this Clippers roster and how they've done so far this season, if Kawhi Leonard keeps playing pretty well, and it doesn't have to be a superstar or even a star he just has to be very good, the Clippers actually could be a decent playoff team in the West.

By decent I mean at least be competitive in the first round. Which isn't much but I think it's more than was expected for them this season

Is Anthony Davis playing hurt or is he just tired or something because he's playing extremely badly today but has been good lately otherwise

Literally no one on the Lakers is playing particularly well today

Norman Powell is a real offensive weapon for the Clippers. is there more to his game? I like him when he scores but I'm not sure about how I feel about the rest of his game

People didn't realize how good their depth was. And they didn't realize how good Powell is.

Not sure how far they can go in the playoffs with Harden though...I have no confidence in him.

Rough night for the Lakers. That culture of defensive laziness....

On the bright side for Lakers fans though, Bronny James Jr. was only 2 points shy of his career high.

I was thinking that too for a minute, then I remembered they have 'Playoff Houdini' James Harden at point guard, plus Kawhi Injard who wont make it thru a full post season.

Its an intriguing script in theory but in reality its gonna be the movie weve all seen before.

Yeah, I'd love to see the Clippers shock the world and trounce the West....but after four years in a row of them being Lebron-esque in the playoffs, I've given up on this team until they end the Kawhi era.

The upside the Clippers have in the playoffs if Kawhi stays healthy is actually pretty intriguing

And I know we're all tired of that health concern but hey it can happen. Like it's possible
