View Full Version : Why does Joel Embiid never play in Denver?

Whenever the Sixers have a game against the Nuggets in Denver, Joel Embiid seems to miss it. He hasn't played in Denver in years. Is he literally afraid of Jokic? Or is it an air issue because as everyone knows the air is much thinner up in Denver and some people have issues with it.

I'm not one of those fans that accuses players of being afraid of other players because 99% of the time it would be false but in this case, what's the deal

He is most likely done for the season. Denver or no Denver he was not going to play tonight.

Season is over. Time to focus on the lottery.

This is the 1% OP. He is scared shitless of Jokic....but only in Denver. I've finally let out "the big secret". Whatever happened in that 2019 Denver game, it gave him SEVERE PTSD. He will never play another second in Denver for the rest of his career.

You happy OP? You happy now...Is this what you wanted to read you POS? Maybe if you read it again it will make it real

I'm not against Embiid, he's an awesome player! I really just wasn't clear about the Denver situation but yeah it seems like it's the one exception..

As for Embiid in general, I think he can be fine health-wise if he just loses 10 or 20 pounds. If he does that he can dominate almost anyone in the league. I guess just not in Denver

It seems just an unfortunate situation that games in Denver always comes up when he's injured. I think there's only been 1 out of 5 times he didn't play in Denver when he's healthy.

That was actually the game where Embiid was going for the game winning dunk and Jokic grabbed his jersey and flopped to the ground. The refs called the foul on Embiid and the game was over.

He probably thought, "f'ck this I ain't playing here again with this biased shit". Then never played in Denver again.

I know you’re giving a real explanation but if you read it out loud you’ll see how soft that is for a guy making however much Embiid is to play basketball to think that.

Go back and stick it to everyone doesn’t exist?

Embiid is a high-integrity individual. The NBA is billing this as "Rivalry Week" and for him to play Jokic under such a heading would be lying to basketball fans everywhere.

I've yet to see him win a cup or the in-season tourneys.
